For gaming ofc i3's are better, but for other uses like video rendering and other workstation stuff, ryzen definitely wins

No matter what you say though, for 109 dollars, a cpu that is overclockable on the stock cooler along with a 60 dollar mobo is a loving steal, especially due to it being 4c4t. In terms of value, Ryzen 3 wins out between the i3.

Also here's my updated build + setup (minus desk) with Ryzen 3, woot

In my PC use I do more multitasking and 3d modeling than gaming, and when I do game it's either emulators, old games, or really low requirement games. If I do play AAA, the only games I do want are Forza Horizon 3 and Forza 7, which will be fine on my pc since I'm okay with lower settings lol

If you're willing to part it, I'd do 150 plus cost of shipping for the PSU and RAM
Also, if you part, sell the 1070 on Craigslist to some ethereum miners, the bubble is about to pop and that gpu will drop in price when it does, but u can get more for it now
fyi update: asked the dude on the 12th how he'd want me to pay, never said anything back to me again rip

I've been thinking about making an absolute potato PC.
Like loving, the worst of the worst parts and just slap em together and bim bam boom, there ya go.
Potato PC.
It will be like LGR's Woodgrain PC except absolute loving garbage.

Throwback to a year ago and christ I was pretty dumb then when it came to computers lmao, apparently back then I had basically no idea on the concept of part optimization / balance and such, the list in the quote is terrible lmao

my most recent pcpartpicker list will perform much better than this and is actually 6 dollars cheaper too lol, even adding in a gtx 1050 will still be 20 dollars cheaper than this

would this be good as a budget setup? (the pc budget is 520 at the dead max, no r9 480 or gtx 1060+) the thread I made went quiet without any opinions and I'd really like some

looks like I'm going to be decommissioning my fx-8350 system and using it as a dedicated server relatively soon!! ryzen 5 1600x build incoming?? :-O

anything i should change? let me know, thanks.

You don't need that beefy a CPU for that GPU. You should either upgrade the graphics or downgrade the cpu to get the most bang for your buck

to be fair it'd be cheaper and much easier to upgrade the gpu than the cpu later on down the road

this, and the 1050ti is actually a really good gpu paired with the 1600

nvidia gpu and an amd cpu?

hmm...

i personally don't know if you should go with an AMD cpu or an nvidia GPU, i hear it does bottlenecking or something, unless if anyone cares to contradict that otherwise. dunno what's wrong otherwise
