EDIT: Made an updated list

Also new best cheap case because who spends 100 quids on a case?
i dont think that board would do too well with overclocking. if he's not going to overclock he could get that board and then might as well swap the 6600k for a normal 6600, otherwise: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/XFsGcc

also i kept the ram at a single 8gb stick w/ no heat sink bc then he'll have room to more easily upgrade to 16gb in the future + it's $10 cheaper, and lets be honest who really overclocks ram to the point where a heat sink is necessary if they overclock their ram at all. especially on ddr4 running 1.35v

What are you even basing this on? It'll do fine

everywhere i've read, you can't oc a cpu on an h170 board like you can with a z170

k
I chose 2x4 because dual channal and HyperX are awesome sticks.
Also they look coolio. I dont even oc anything in my system beside the boost clock from my cpu and I have HyperX.

need (z)170
goes side by side with (k) cpus

need that match up to do any overclocking.

p sure that H boards aren't designed for overclocking

would this be good as a budget setup? (the pc budget is 520 at the dead max, no r9 480 or gtx 1060+) the thread I made went quiet without any opinions and I'd really like some

flfpsdlghdh this hurts meeeee
I see 2 things wrong with this build.
- 16GB of ram in a budget build. Unless you're gonna be using RAM intensive software, go with 8GB.
- DDR3 1333 is the max frequency supported on your mobo. 1333 is really slow by today's standards, 1600 is like minimum I'd say.

The only thing I can see wrong is that you have 16GB of ram in a budget build. Unless you plan to be using RAM intensive software, just go with 8GB, which will save you like $20.
I do plan on using software that'll be more RAM intensive like editing video and the like. Plus I won't have to upgrade it in the future if I get it now

Yes, but your motherboard only supports 1333mhz ram, which is pretty slow. Get a motherboard that'll support like 1600 or 1866mhz, it'll be so much better.

I think it should be fine with me but I'll take a look into it

It turns out im wrong, I looked at ASUS' site for the motherboard and it supports 1600mhz as its max ram frequency.
