Need some airflow advice.Would implementing this airflow cool my GPU pretty well? Right now it idles at 51C, sometimes going as high as 77C (during gaming) and I have a 120mm at 1 pulling in and a 120mm at 3 pulling out. It's a 7970.Also my motherboard only has two chassis fan connectors, so I might get a fan controller. How do fan controllers work? Where do they go? How do they connect? EDIT: My room is usually between 65-80F
idk why people bother with fan controllers, they seem very gimmicky IMO.the additional airflow might help but my only concern might be that the intake at 2 may pull some exhaust from 3.
hi guys i need a bit of helpmy current gpu is a gt 520 on an amd athlon ii x4 640 cpu (clocked at 3.0 Ghz)if i upgraded my graphics card to a nvidia gtx 660 ti will i bottleneck or have any issues with heating?all help and insight is appreciated
Yes, you will bottleneck that card with that processor. An FX-4300 or greater wouldn't bottleneck that card.
wait you're saying a gt 520 cant run with a amd fx 4300? Would it run with a gtx 560, or at least better than the AMD phenom ii x4 810 processor will?
I think you need to read his post, he's asking about a GTX 660 Ti.
not too familiar with amd, but i'd say a bit yeah.
Oooh my bad I just read the quote were he said gt 520, but would it still run well?
will it bottleneck too much to actually get good performance out of the card? will there be any noticeable difference
probably. the 660ti is fairly great, the athlon 2s are fairly aged even if it's a quad core.with athlons, think pentium 4 times for intel.
