Author Topic: [MEGATHREAD] Personal Computer - Updated builds thanks to Logical Increments  (Read 1574924 times)

A personal computer is a personal computer regardless of what operating system, ass.

If this was the Windows Megathread I could see why youd ask that but this is the personal computer megathread.
uh..

someone just jumped the gun in a very silly way, I'm pretty sure that Glass was referring to the fact the guys post had nothing other than a picture of a very well known iMac, not that he was saying Mac's aren't allowed or something

I love OSX... I just asked why he posted a picture of a iMac. loving idiot.

Proceed to get the forget out and go back to posting handicapped stuff in the Furry Megathread so no sane-minded individual has to deal with it. kthx.

There's an entire build for under $800
Brand new parts, excluding the GPU, and plenty of room for upgrading in the future
Did you consider a 6300 instead of the 4350?

sorry i misunderstood what you said, damn you call people idiots at the easiest times.

ill be sure to call you a "loving idiot" next time you make a mistake reading a post.

Yes, most games to date aren't fully optimized to use 6 cores yet, quad cores are really /just/ starting to get full support

it's better for him to get that .7ghz per core than to have 2 unneeded cores

on an $800 budget, and don't get flustered, it's the same as me knowing nothing about intel lmao
you can buy a dedicated card for the other one, it's a better bang for the buck

I can do that? Its a laptop

Yes, but I'm not thinking about gaming specifically. What about mixing down audio, creating videos, and general workstation performance? Personally, I think the extra two cores that is utilized by most codecs, photo manipulators, video editors, and audio tools is well worth the sacrifice of a slight gaming performance boost.

You're right, it is better for an all around PC to have those cores, but coming from a forum and thread where 90% of PC builds are engineered for gaming, I'd suspect that's no different here.  If it is in the case it's going to be a gaming PC, the 4350 is a much better choice, but I'll give you the fact if it is for doing everyday tasks and anything requiring encoding or rendering, he'd be better off with the 6300

Your point is more than fair enough. It'd be up to Glass in the end.

by any chance are you using the 6--- line of FX?

I haven't gotten to play around with them much, when we're building commercial PC's at work we usually stick with ahtlons and phenoms, so I never have an excuse to use the 6--- series

Yes, actually. I'm using an FX-6100 OC'd to 4.1GHz. I was stuck choosing between the 4130 and 6100 and ended up choosing the 6100 because of what I tend to do on the computer.

that's sweet, I'm using an 8350 OC'd to 5.0Ghz right now, so I've got the best of both worlds, lol, but I've always wanted to see how the 6--- series would hold up

Im at staples so I have a quick question. Radeon 7470+7520g 1 gb dual graphics with an a6 dual core cpu. Or a radeon 7600g with amd a8 quad core cpu? And are either of these good for 450?

I'm still pretty toen about this. Keep in mimd these are both laptops.

go for the one with a 7600g
