make your desk better, like i did

I have an idea of what I'm going to upgrade to sometime, I'm just waiting for NewEgg to have some sales or something. Mostly because I don't badly need to upgrade right now, and I just built my PC not even a year ago - but it wouldn't hurt.

Anyways, I'm thinking of getting a GeForce GTX 660 and a Intel Core i5-3350P. I think it might be compatible with my motherboard, and fit in my case - but I'm not 100% so I just want to double check with you guys if you don't mind.

Here's my case and motherboard.

I forgot, I have a 500W PSU, will that be alright?

Corsair Builder Series CX V2 500-Watt

i think it should be fine as long you aren't doing any major overclocking

Alright guys, here are the parts I have ordered and on their way :) Some are already here :D I can take pictures if you want.

Corsair 600T White (Here)
MSI z77 MPower (Shipping)
Patriot Viper 3 16GB 1866 (Here)
i7-3770k (Driving to get tomorrow morning)
Corsair H100i (Ordering Tomorrow after I pick up the CPU)
SeaSonic 760W 80 Plus Platinum (Shipping)
3x Swiftech Helix 120mm Fans (Here)
Western Digital 2TB (Here)
Coolermaster Quickfire TK MX Blue (Shipping)
Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM 23" (Shipping)

I will be running off of the Intel Graphics until I later get a GPU as it is a huge hit on my dad's wallet and I have agreed with him to wait a bit until we order that. And who knows, maybe the next line of GPU's will be out by then :P

Can't wait ^_^

@Awdax in a month, new cards will be out. You can get a better, more efficiant card later instead of one that may be outdated severly. (like the radeon 5000 series was and the 6000 series is in the process of doing).

Need a little help choosing an ATI or Nvidia graphics card for my PC. Budget is max $150, preferably $120.

My builds specs are:
AMD Phenom II 965 Processor 3.4 Ghz, easily OCed to 4ghz with the heatsink I got.
8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 RAM
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Heatsink
Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid tower case
stuff generic PSU that does what it needs to do
XFX R6670 Radeon 2GB - current GPU

keep your GPU and upgrade the PSU

Hey guys, will a CPU with no integrated graphics work on a motherboard that supports only with integrated graphics?

:)

keep your GPU and upgrade the PSU

Do you think that'll really help? Can I just take out a few of the 5 fans?

Edit: Just took the side off my PC and the PSU is hot as forget.

Eazy, if you save up a bit then you can upgrade the GPU and get a more reliable PSU; http://pcpartpicker.com/p/EeXj

are you stupid

Is there any info on the new cards? I want to make sure my 500W PSU is enough, or that they're compatible with my motherboard as well.

Maybe the prices too? The thing is, I just built my PC not even a year ago.

EDIT: Well my current graphics card came out back in October 2010. For me, I plan to upgrade every three years, so I guess I should put some money aside for a card later this year. How often are cards released?

Also, if I were to get a recent card, would I need to upgrade my CPU too? It was released May 2011, just a side-note.

Intel Core i5-2310 CPU @ 2.9Ghz (4 CPUs)

I don't want to bottleneck. Any idea what details of the CPU and GPU I compare to make sure it won't bottleneck?

well i can only fit one of the rise of my desk (because it was made for one monitor) and the other two on each side. even if they were the same size it would still be lopsided.

If you were to have the other two in portrait I would understand. You should just go with two 24" if you can't fit 3 23" Have one monitor for games and one for other things. Or just buy 2 23" and wait til you can fit a third.

Cards haven't been going up in power consumption really. Quite a few of the low to mid range cards have gone down. Unless you're purchasing a top of the line 2x chip card you'll be fine with that cpu.
