Author Topic: [MEGATHREAD] Personal Computer - Updated builds thanks to Logical Increments  (Read 1580996 times)

I am going to put my 660ti in my build in a bit after windows is done installing all of these updates, I will also redo some of the cable management to make it look even better :D

This might sound silly but, which components would you buy with a budget of up to $10000?
Also, what kind of monitor do you suggest for such a computer?

You could buy the most expensive parts available and still have thousands left over.

Build another one so you can play Crysis 3 on ultra twice, at the same time

The parts have arrived I'll take pictures as my father and I build it tonight or tomorrow. Pardon my messy garage.
That's the case I use too

Can you link me to the parts?

But that's just over-doing it. Quad Titans is not as good as it sounds, at least not for this current generation of gaming.

Sacrificing an actual SSD and RAID5 for quad-SLI Titans is horrible and you should feel bad for using more than two Titans.

You could use a 4k television. 4 titan SLI can only get about 60 fps in benchmarks for ultra on less-demanding titles

But that's just over-doing it.

Yup. I was just asking because I actually had $10000 to spend freely (no, I don't deal drugs).
One thing about getting an expensive computer is that the components and technology get replaced by better products almost every year, and some of my friends are really frustrated with how their Alienware computer became pretty much standard-spec after few years.

Is there something better?

Yes
Using two titans
So using two titans is actually better than using four or are you talking about cost-to-spec ratio?

You gain something like 16% more performance by using two more titans. Two titans is only about 150% more powerful than one.
There really is no excuse to use more than 2 titans.

IMO one Titan is even enough for the most demanding of games, and you should save the rest of the money for a rig in the future.

Well a 780 or a 690 is a better solo card, right? But yes, I would just build a rig that is at the top of what you would need today and then upgrade it every couple of years. You'd get as much power as you need, much way better value and it would last way longer.
