Do you have all the extra stuff like monitor, keyboard, etc?
Yes and I'll take care of the mouse. I got a silent one for $12 on amazon for e family and I've been happy with it

A simple reinstalling of the card worked but this is plug-and-play. Should this be happening at all?
only if you were using an up-to-date computer

Here is my parts list so far, feel free to let me know what needs improving:

Case (if I need it)

Fans

Maybe these fans?

Power supply

Processor

Hard drive

I have a moniter, keyboard and mouse, and maybe a disk drive

Can you guys help me out on finding a laptop? Im looking for one that costs around $400-$600

I plan to use it for recording, and heres the system requirements I need for the capture card software to work properly: http://help.elgato.com/customer/portal/articles/1020255?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=4650&nav=0,1,448&group=englishdefault

I would prefer more than 4GB of RAM, and I mainly intend to use the laptop for recording and editing, but maybe some light gaming such as Gmod and Blockland

Why do none of you guys select a Video Card?

would a gtx 760 be good for gaming in 1440p?

Could one of you please recommend me a wireless card? I've only ever had a wired connection, but i'll no longer be able to have one and I have no clue of what I should be looking at.

Netgear WPN311. Old card but very reliable and good speeds.

Anyone need a 650w psu?

It would also give your desktop a nifty little handle lol. It's nearly new. I just need a bigger one.

Buy me a 20 dollar steam game or something

Guys, can you give me a good desktop that I can build myself (I'll need a tutorial video, and a PC part picker list or newegg or whatever website) My budget is around $1000

Minimum stuff it needs -
8 GB of RAM
Nvidia graphics card that is better than the GT 525m
Monitor included.

Damn I would have loved that, wish I hadn't lost my job.

What expansion slot types do you have free? If you've got a PCIe x1 free, I'd recommend this.

Don't recommend old tech that doesn't meet today's standards, kthx

Noob inbound
Got my first GPU upgrade (R9 280X) and just installed it. Thing is, I dont have enough pins (Is that what theyre called?) to fill them all in. Heres what its currently like

Excuse the messy wiring, I'm fixing it later.
So where can I buy something that fills in the 3x2 pin(?) slot? When I turn it on like this, theres no output to the screen, but the GPU is on and the fans are spinning. Putting them in the 3x2 (empty in the picture) results in no output to the screen and the fans dont spin, but it is on

(needs a new power supply)
