the little part fits good, but the longer part isn't long enough to go to the end. a guy at a pc parts store said it will still work. what do u guys think?

It still works, just how you can put a pcie x1 in a pcie x16 slot.

Well, its non-modular and is only 430w, so normally id say no, but you don't need anything spectacular with your setup, and the non-modular would fit with the rest of your pc.

So I just finished assembling all the hardware for my computer. I'm trying to install Windows from a USB, but the drive isn't showing in the BIOS. It is the most current BIOS. Could I put my new hard drive as a second hard drive in my family's tower, install Windows, and then transfer the drive back to my rig?

I don't have a disk drive. The USB is brand new and the bookable drive was created using the Microsoft tool.

Do you have the bios set to boot from USB?

There is no such option in the bios. The website says it supports it however. When I enter boot configuration, the USB drive is not listed. I tried all the usb slots available. The file system is fat32 on the drive because I saw in the bios to use that. Its also the drives default I believe.

Amd Fx 8350
Gskill 8gig
Xfx R9 290
Asrock 980de3/u3s3
1tb WD black
Evga 750
Sansdisk cruzer blade 8gb

No to the bold. Anyways, there's an option in the BIOS to boot from USB, you're just not seeing it.

I checked every menu and sub menu. There is no USB boot. I would show you, but I forgeted up by disabling legacy USB support becuause the bios said it might help with USB devices not showing up, and now my keyboard won't work. I can't get back into the bios to undo it, so I have a $1000 paperweight at the moment.

Nah, you should be able to revert. See if your board has a CMOS jumper switch and report back.

Well, somewhere in the bios is something that would change the lineup at which it checks what to boot from. Also remove the battery in the bios, wait about half an hour, put it back in. That should reset it.

Or he could just use the switch that was built for this purpose.
