I dont quite remember what it was but somehing allobg those lines

For 1000 you can get a solid machine, but honestly build one yearself. You'll save a couple of hunderd bucks

For 1050 dollars you can get this baby.
Featuring the new i5-6600K skylake. With its 14nm lithography its up to 50% faster then its older generation. Also with 8Gb dual memory DDR4 you can get fast ram stuff or whatever. Altrough if you change the mobo you can also get cheaper ddr3.
For the glu the 290X is the AMD equivilant of the GTX Titan. A very powerfull card. Unless you want nvidia shadowplay or shield or whatever your shouls get a GTX 970 tough.
A 1Tb WD blue with a 240Gb SSD for boot and some games.
A cheap but amazing case. The NZXT S340 is undoubtly the best budget case out there. Altrough the window scratches p easy so look out for that.
And the PSU is a 600W fully modular 80+ gold so its more then enough.
problem is i live in a dorm and i don't have the spare time to assemble and set up/learn how to assemble a computer. i would definitely like to build a computer but now is not a good time, though i could probably get some help from my suitemates. i'll also have to get everything delivered as there is no good tech store close enough that I can get parts from. that includes hardware stores, should i need screws or etc.

if actually setting up the computer isn't particularly hard i could give it a go. what typically is the hardest part about building a rig? what kinds of tools do I need?

Screws comes with the case or mobo so you dont need to buy one and the only thing you need a screwdriver. (Magnetic!)
Building a computer is like lego's. Youll find plenty of articles or videos on how to assemble it. And building one takes about 4 hours or so.

Imo the hardest part with my build was either getting the IO shield in my stuffty case or managing the cables after I was done
(Or putting the backplate back one because there is literally no room)

linus tech tips forums presents: how to mount a corsair water cooling kit on your GTX 980 Ti

step 1: drill a hole into PCB to line up mounting holes (even though instructions state that the last hole doesn't need to be lined up)

step 2: after realizing it isn't working, stick a screwdriver in the hole to "simulate soldering"
step 3: ????
step 4:

Saw it this on facebook lol

Pff corsair.

G10 master race.
I used it on my evga 980ti (ftw) easily

Bad Brands = Razer... come on you know their quality has gone down the stuffter in the years

As for switches , good brand switches are CherryMX, Khail, Gateron, and Topre, theres a few other ones but those are the best brand switches, the types are a bit different for cherry heres a chart :

razer makes khail and uses khail lol

7 page bump, seriously though 7 pages of nobody posting pc related stuff?

While your right on one part, your forgetting the other...

Their overall build quality (PCB, Plastic, Cable, leds) is poor compared to their older keyboards, when their pricing was decent, and Razer's overall keyboards aren't the greatest thing ever, if you have ever met the Razer Deathstalker, its a Membrane Chiclet key based eyboard that can have a nasty defect where your shift and ctrl keys get stuck.

Personally I don't like their "aggressive gamer" look, I bought a hybrid/Memchanical keyboard on Amazon a few weeks ago to replace it and even it has better build quality than the deathstalker.

The worst thing in general about Razer's keyboards are their dependency on Razer Synapse, I hate having to have a uneeded piece of software running in the background just to use a keyboard. I would like to just use it for customizing the keyboard and then be able to close it and not touch it, but nope, as soon as you close razer synapse the nkro functions and winkey lock, all those special functions go away.

For the price Razer sells a Blackwidow Chroma I can get something from Ducky that will not only have better build quality, but it won't need a loving program in the backround and offers a stuff ton of customizability.

Yay it's been over a month since I built my PC, it's been working perfectly :D

Apperently the Nvidia driver v.364 causes bluescreens, bootloops and other stuff thats not good so if you have that downgrade to an earlier version.
Its already removed from the driver page but there is a beta and its 364.51 wich you can download, but I dont recommend it.
so yeah

it's up 2 u I guess but I'd be wary of trusting a closed-source web browser

Good enough for me, but if you like extensions you might want to use Firefox, or Chrome.

Even though extension support is supposed to be coming in an update, I use Edge all the time, I still hate the fact it doesn't have webm support though, its snappy and quick though since its impossible to bloat it with toolbars and other stuff that made ie slow, and its also an entirely new rendering engine, since ie used trident and edge uses well edge rendering.
