"Tackles RX 480"

Thank you based AMD for releasing cheap af GPU's so Nvidia will make cheap af GPU's

don't know if its cool to post this but, i was wondering if anyone could help me review my parts for a gaming/school computer i'm building. i've never built a computer before and i'm not experienced in the slightest

if i need to get rid of anything, replace something or, you just wanna tell me how stupid it is feel free to do so

You might want to wait and see the benchmarks for the rx 480 when it comes out tomorrow because it would be the same price as your 960 but is said to be more powerful.

Why would you want an i7 for gaming and school? Unless your school wants you to render stuff
NZXT S340 is an excellent case, I suggest getting that one instead. Its allot cheaper tho
Get a newer generation GPU from either AMD or Nvidia.

As for building a computer its like legos but with a "dont touch the parts if you're no grounded" game.
A quick sumary on how to assemble PC:
Take out motherboard and lay on box
Insert CPU in motherboard with the right orientation (align gold corners)
Insert RAM
Put CPU cooler on CPU
Put Mobo in Case
Put GPU in one of the PCIx slots in your mobo
Put PSU in case and route all wires trough back
Put drives in case
Connect everything
basicly done.

you don't need an i7 for gaming. an i5 will do you just fine. only get an i7 if you're doing things like rendering or video editing/exporting workloads (or a lot of distributed computing projects like F@H or boinc).

I'd wait until all specs are released for both cards, we don't even know how many cuda cores the 1060 has yet.

also the aesthetic of the 1060 looks a bit odd to me, almost out of place. If the 10XX cards were toy transformers then the 1060's shroud would be the chinese knock off on the bottom shelf.

like look at this stuff in comparison to my 1070 that I haven't used for the past week and a half because these drivers make me want to kill myself oh my good lord someone kill me forget these drivers I hate them they're dog stuff killm-

take a look

like the forget's going on there

that looks pretty ugly imo i dont think i'd buy one
unless it outperforms the 480 and evga makes a card id buy one

imho i don't like how any of the 10XX series look, it's something about the "polygonal" style that doesn't fit with a computer theme

like it's trying to put on diamond on a phone case - good idea in theory, but just looks tacky imo

did they seriously lay that board side down on a plastic bag

ehh it varies from person to person, I'm a sucker for the low poly aesthetic so the FE was a must for me.

the people at Nvidia who sent it to them are probably cringing their asses off at this picture.

My 1070 is amazing don't know what you mean about driver issues.
