Author Topic: Sony trying to ban used games.  (Read 5709 times)

If it were possible to share/pirate a Blockland key badspot may end up shutting down Blockland for good if it didn't generate enough income. Or he would just not update it anymore.

The fact is, no one on here can ever have a good debate without losing their stuff with you. I'm warning the mentally impaired like Stick Man and the rest of the forum just not start
Hey do you know where that thingy to block users posts from appearing is?

That post was not for me

He's asking you for the final solution to Lord Tony's horse stuff.

You want to block him because he's right? If you buy a game, play it, then sell it for half off to someone else, you may have gotten half of the value back but now 2 people have played that game for the price of 1, meaning the developer only got 50% of the money they're entitled to for someone playing their game. If you resold your Blockland key for $10, Badspot would deactivate it. Selling Steam accounts is against the Steam rules. This is not a new idea. Allowing the person who purchased the used game to purchase the full game for a discounted rate is actually a blessing on Sony's part, you may still be able to get used games for cheaper than the full title. The only person who it hurts is the person who, in my opinion, is fully in the wrong: the reseller.

This would be awesome. Especially if Xbox 720 did too. That way, PC gaming will rule even more.

No just because it's always wrong, it has the idea that it'll bankrupt indie devs.  Which it can't, because like you said, the only one who profits really is the reseller and user.

Libraries are killing books! Also someone buying the game used is not always a lost sale.

I agree that piracy is a bad thing, but physical used games? Hell no. The difference btwn piracy and used games is piracy is copying one file to many many many people, at no loss to the person with the original file. But when you have a used game there is only one copy. You can't just mass produce used games and share them with your friends. By buying a game I want to be buying the game, not a license to use it on only one console, which forgets with buying new consoles or replacing one. This is the most stupid loving idea I've ever heard.

First off, I'm not mentally impaired, just very tired.

Secondly, Go forget yourself.

That would be implying that I'm mentally impaired, which I'm not.

Go forget yourself.

It's not even implying it, lol

DRM for consoles, what is the world coming to. I'm pretty sure no one has yet to go bankrupt from their games being used by more than one person. They still sell lots and lots of copies of the game. And indie games mostly sell on PSN or XBLA or whatever, so reselling is definitely not going to make them loose money.

Majority of PC gaming is now downloadable games which you also can't share to your friend's computer.

These investors need to get the forget out of this industry and go back buying oil stocks.
