the total number of pc gamers that play eve is tiny compared to the number of pc gamers on a whole.

if you're releasing a game in a different genre, there's already a new group of players on the PC that you can exploit

seriously you're talking about this like every single PC owner plays eve, they dont
No you  don't get it. If a PC gamer wanted to try dust, they would play Eve. If a console player wanted to try Eve he would try Dust.

lets rephrase what you just said.

if a pc gamer wanted to try "an FPS" (DUST), they would play a "Space simulation MMORPG" (EVE)?

no they wouldn't, how could you even think that? they're completely different genres, they aren't interchangeable

Yep. That's what i said. Why would you repost this if you understood me the first time? :cookieMonster:

i rephrased it to confirm that your logic is just handicapped

why would I try a different genre game then the one I wanted to play?

let me answer your question with 2 more questions; Have you ever played Dust 514? Have you ever played EVE-Online?

Flying cool space ships and what no.

I have played eve. I have never played dust because I don't own a console. I don't need to play it to know that they are two different games in two different genres.

so again,
why would I try a different genre game than the one I wanted to play?

it's not just me, his logic is backwards right?? i can't tell if i'm just reading it wrong or what

Did you play EVE outside the trial? If not, that doesn't count. And what I've been trying to explain to you for the past 4 pages is that it's the same game, different genre.

yes, i did.

and it's not the same game.. it's connected to the eve universe but it's a very different game. even just being a different genre means that you can't use them interchangeably. i can't play eve and know what dust will be like, that's moving from a space sim mmo to a shooter - it doesn't work.

The goon squad should destroy Dust.

The goon squad should destroy Dust.
not if the russians beat them to it

Sorry but from here on out your argument, in fact, is invalid because you have only seen one side. Sames mods, same fitting system, same war decs, same enemies, same backstory, same salvaging, same universe, same war. Your character is a spaceship except you are looking through the eyes of it (if your spaceshipz had eyes).

I war decced the top corp in dust already with my 2-man corp and I am winning and i am ready to war dec the second. Goon swarm can come at me. :D

..except that one is a shooter and the other is a space sim mmo..

if i play eve, i will have experienced the mods, fitting system, war decs, enemies, backstory, salvaging, universe and war of dust. I won't have experienced the same game. They are different games. You can't use them interchangeably, i honestly don't get how you could logically think that.

I don't see how you can't logically think that. But then again, you've only played 1/2 games. Play Dust and then come back with valid feedback.
