Author Topic: Try and explain what color looks like to a blind from birth person.  (Read 6900 times)

Seeing as dopamine isn't ever in a cup, it's not a "literal cup of dopamine". You mean a figurative cup of dopamine.
If someone did manage to put dopamine in a cup (or any pleasure really) I'd drink that stuff up.

Liquid climaxs $5 a cup.

I remember having a philosophical debate with my science teacher last year. When explain to a person that doesn't perceive light rays when reflected from an object could say it is the most magnificent feeling you have ever perceived, a literal cup of dopamine.
Yeah. I really love colour.  :cookieMonster: lol funy joke!!!!!!!!

Color is determined by sight, which is what we use to see the color that an object does not absorb.

If an object is "Black", then it absorbs all color, and reflect none of it, therefore not being represented by a color.  Black, being a shade on the scale of any color, is not considered "All the colors at once".  It is the absolute absorption of light, and it isn't any color at all.

hence the absence of color.
black is only a shade in artwork and pigments.

Did somebody just describe white as "all of the colors mixed"?

Omg get out lol.

yeah, from personal artistic experience, mixing all the base colors together does not give you white lol.
well, technically it does.
i depends on what order you mix the base colors (i'm using acrylic paint as an example)

"Okay, you know what you see? That's what's called Black. Now imagine that, but much brighter. Like looking right into a bright light. That is the opposite of black, which is white. Now, you've heard grass is green, right?"

and that's as far as I got

black is not a color, nor does something get "darker"

It is simply the absence of light

Therefore, black does not exist

Cold is what we call in the absence of heat.

The maximum "coldness" is -400 degrees Celsius. But heat can go on forever

Therefore, cold does not exist either

Now imagine that, but much brighter. Like looking right into a bright light.
the problem here is that blind people don't know what a bright light looks like

And I think blind people see white, not black. (or i might be stupid)

wow, calm your pants, I never said it's a color

No, all they see is black as far as I know.

I would think that since black is the absence of light and color, that it would probably be what blind people see.

no i wasn't quoting you

It's funny because Blind people see a mixture of colors.

So yes, they can see colors

EDIT: I've heard that most of the time they see white though.

Blind people see colors like we see our dreams. It's very dark (yes i know i said they see white) and bland.
