Author Topic: 3 Weapons for an Apocolypse  (Read 7379 times)

I wouldn't ever try to fight, in a apocalypse situation my strategy would be building some kind of fort and recruiting other people to guard me and stuff.

So basically I would just stockpile supplies asap and find a safe place to live. I imagine other people would just naturally seek out a place with lots of supplies, and so I'd end up founding some sort of post apocalyptic town.

that's what I would want to happen anyway, but unless I stockpiled pre-apocalypse I'd probably just die really quickly or find someone who's willing to let me join up with them.

Any gun.
Bottle of good brandy.
Some painkillers.
You can tell the rest.

You wouldn't need anything other than stronger glass unless you expected to get shot at. The metal on cars is paper thin but it can still stop zombies if they bodyslam it.

Nothing because it's hopeless. An apocalypse is the end of the world, there's no way for you to escape the world ending because it's impossible. As part of the world when it ends you end as well. It's futile to resist.

I guess I'm the only one who got the reference.

Primary: M4 Carbine

Secondary: Walther P99

Melee:

Probably just a hunting type pocket knife you good find at a Walmart.

Close Quarters Weapon

Primary weapon reasoning
A good, functional rifle dating all the way back to 1959, the M14 is still in service today within marine, army and military forces alike. The M14 uses a 7.62mm round, and the M14 in the picture above is made out of fiberglass; strong material, light weight. Not pictured, I would also invest in a sling, a GG&G Extreme Duty Swivel Bipod, an M14 rail extension, a red laser sight and a red dot scope (Though my shot grouping is a little better with iron sights, oddly.)
STATS
M14SA BASE  M14SA RECEIVER.  LRB BOLT.  CRITERION 22" STANDARD WEIGHT BARREL (NOT CHROME LINED) 1:12 TWIST.   NM MODIFIED FLASH SUPPRESSOR.  10rd MAGAZINE, SLING, MANUAL INCLUDED

Secondary weapon reasoning
Compact and deadly. Easy to find a space for, whether in a chest holster or a jacket pocket (I have 3 jackets with pockets designed to carry a handgun, located right above the left breast), the HK45 compact tactical comes with a standard, 10-round magazine. It's designed to fire .45, which is quite possibly the 3rd most common ammunition I know (at least in my area, right next to .22 and .306)
STATS
CALIBER   OVERALL LENGTH   BARREL LENGTH   WEIGHT WITH EMPTY MAGAZINE
.45 ACP            7.91 in.                    4.57 in.                              1.82 lb

Melee weapon reasoning
The Bone Machete, crafted by Zombie Tools is made of 5160 steel, and registers a 53 on the Rockwell Hardness scale, just 2 points below a very high quality knife blade's rating. The hand guard adds to your grip, and also prevents you're knuckles from getting bashed up.
STATS
Total Length 25in (.64m)   Blade/Handle Length 17.5in/7.5in (.44m/.19m)   Usable Grip Size 4in (.1m)
Steel Width 0.204in (5.2mm)  Weight 2lbs 4oz (1.2kg)   Price $289.95US

note: Most of this information is direct copy-paste. I've added in my personal opinions here and there, but I tried to keep my post as factual as possible.

For combat purposes, a machete will always be better than a hatchet. You've got a much lower chance of loving up the swing and missing the target since a blade runs all the way down and you can still use it to cut some branches if you have no other option.

In a zombie apocalypse, gun laws won't be enforced.
I've seen some revolvers with 12 rounds.
If you're smart, gas won't be an issue.

Primary- Mosin Nagant w/ Bayonet
Super cheap (About $100) and super reliable, ammo is pretty easy to find

Secondary- Glock 17
Ammo easy to find, reliable, etc.

Melee- Machete and/or crowbar
Can be used as tools and weapons, I already own a crowbar so I have that covered

A grenade launching silenced scoped automatic shotgun all the way.
