You'll consider it? Right as I was about to deliver my argument, something in his expression told me I shouldn't pursue the matter further. I loosen up and exhale in defeat.
"Very well then. Thank you for your time, colonel."
I walk away quietly and turn my attention towards another matter.
...
"Alright, let me get this straight. So you're telling me that you want a new fighter, despite the fact that I have every reason to deny you of your rank and service time with us in active duty, not even the slightest being the little fiasco in the mess hall... WHICH TOOK PLACE NOT EVEN A FORTNIGHT AGO! Honestly lieutenant, you are a exactly like a loving child! Always asking for more even when you can't even be bothered to clean up your own mess! You either must have some serious loving brass or you're a god damned fool!"
Asking the CO a favor probably wasn't the best idea I've had all day.
"Do you understand how tall of an order it is to bring out an F-35B? Emmeria's Joint Strike Fighter program is still in its infancy, for forget's sake. There are only ten of these on the face of Anea, half of which aren't even in operational condition! We might have had more in our inventory, but ever since war was declared Osea refuses to fill any of our supply orders to comply with their bullstuff neutrality policy. Now given the circumstances, do you honestly believe you deserve a chance when your conduct record is complete stuff and you haven't even proven your loving worth in the EF2000?"
"With all due respect, commander, I'm confident I have proven my worth, in more than just the Typhoon. I'm sure you've read the reports and understand the situation. I'm going to need a more advanced platform with greater system redundancy and overall survivability. I know things have been tight recently, but it's either the JSF program or the loving country."
"Well stuff, now what about the colonel? Didn't Steele bar you and Franc from the next sortie?"
"I made an appeal earlier today. He said he'll consider it."
Looking him in the eye was almost like staring a very angry bull in the face. To tell you the truth, I half expected him to get out of his chair and give me a solid left hook to the face, but he stayed seated and continued to glare at me. After a good thirty seconds, he finally breaks the silence.
"I see. Fine, I'll put in an order. But don't loving count on it."
Holy stuff, I actually convinced him. I must have looked really loving serious that time around.
"I can't thank you enough, commander."
I turned around and began to make my way out of his office. Right before reaching the threshold, he called out to me again.
"Abel. One last thing."
"Yes, sir?"
"If we somehow actually manage to have the fighter prepared for you, and you forget something up on the operation, I will have your head. Good day, lieutenant."
[OOC: F-35B pls]
