Do you go outside often?
I do go outside often, and I'm not talking about illegal gun buying, because that's bullstuff. I'm talking about 100% legal purchases.
Most deaths resulting from gunshots are actually Self Deletes, which although tragic, isn't really a crime.
Banning guns because people use them to kill each other and themselves is a silly prospect, because;
A.) confiscating every legal gun in the country would cost a ridiculous sum of money and would only take away guns from legal owners, nevermind the multitudes of illegal guns
B.) that wouldn't stop people from killing each other. There are more ways than one to kill another human, and if someone wants to kill someone else, they'll be dead one way or another.
My point is, if a third of all households in the United States (legally) own guns, and about a quarter of all people in this country smoke, smoking results in 443,000 deaths per year, in 2005 only 10,100 homicides were committed using firearms. If you truly wanted to save people, why not ban smoking first? You'll save 40 times as many people, and you'll improve general health and air quality as well. People target guns for the wrong reasons.
