Nevermind, I've narrowed down my choices on Godfather Airsoft and Airsplat. Thanks for the consideration though

i have no idea what this means
every G4 gun(excluding FMG4's), such as the one you're looking at, is this with external modifications and simulated blow-back recoil. The base G&G Combat Machine is a great gun for its price, but if you spend a little more you could get a different M4 with better internals and full-metal externals such as the high-quality yet very bland-looking VFC M4 or ICS M4

or this thing that I know almost nothing about but looks cool

I see.

So would the M16 be a good gun to get for a semi-beginner? We'd most likely be playing on varied fields, some maps close quarters, some mid-range, and a few really big fields.

Is the M16 just a solid all around good gun? Or would I be better off with the M4ES?

Ooh. I do like that working bolt catch. And the metal construction. But I don't think that's worth twice the price of the M16.

They have around the same FPS, so how better can the M4ES be?

It's not that much better. It's more durable, but not worth an extra $140 imo.

VFC has some of the best externals in the industry, and is more reliable and better in terms of consistency and overall performance compared to a G&G. I think it is quite worth it, but then again it's still 280$ lol

If you think you can handle/deal with a higher-end gun and that you'll stay in the sport for a while, I'd suggest the VFC. Just read reviews n stuff and figure out what you want to do

If there's a risk of CQC, don't get the M16, the barrels on those thing are miles longer than an M4's

M4's are bad for cqb too.
For cqb you really want a rear heavy weapon that is easy to quickly move and aquire targets..

I meant if you want an AEG rifle that will be used for mid-short distances, use the M4 or even a bullpup for better maneuverability.

I was going to get the VFC SCAR for a while. I ended up blowing my money on something else though>

my star fish cart is ready

Seriously wtf you need 500+ fps in an mp5 for ;-;
