the benefits of being poor
have the inability to buy/play many games so you don't become one of the sorry bastards who buys them without thinking

I honestly don't see why all of you regret buying the game. You bought it knowing that it wasn't complete. And if you had fun during the time you did play it, I don't see what the problem is.

They bought it not knowing the dev team was dumb.

I kinda hoped there would be more regular stable updates, rather than their nightly system (which is very a good concept, but doesn't appeal to me).
I'm just waiting for the moment they decide that what they've done so far is worth releasing as a full version.
And that might be a while, because from what they've shared on their DevBlog for the last half year, they've been completely reworking most aspects of the game.

I sometimes play in the meantime, but I find progression to be too slow and boring at the moment, which is something they're working on a lot at the moment.

ive bought this game for myself and crispy iirc
i also bought it for a friend irl
i still play it from time to time and its ok i guess but not as fun as my first playthrough
so to sum up i wasted all my savings (because peso is way less than dollars and therefore i have to save up more) on 3 copies of starbound in around a 1 month lapse

and when i get more money it'll be 4
surprise surprise

i play from time to time to see how the devs are working on the game

it's, well... okay.

when f3 first got it for me though i was playing almost non stop - so fun

Opinions may be opinions but its a fact that these idiot developers have missed deadline after deadline, broken promise after promise, and havent pushed out a major update in almost a year. This stuff has objectively failed to deliver on so many levels.
You want a 2d sidescrolling sandboxy thing? Play Terraria instead.

Terraria = amazing

That and they have an even SMALLER team compared to Starbounds.

didnt chucklefish make Risk of rain?
if so, that game was amazing, its a shame they could go from being really good an professional from that to just being doorknobs with this game.

they didn't make risk of rain, they just published it
i.e. slapped their logo on it and did forget-all else

that makes sense
still, even as just a publisher they were more professional than they are now.

This may be true, but you can still have fun with the game
