oops i should have said that I've already played it

i mean this is something I'd like to go back and play for a little bit but it seems not even one person feels the same

and i don't mean like im looking for someone to play multilayer
I like the game still, but I am not going to lie and say it isn't lacking things.

Well, terraria doesn't really have a story. You just kind of explore and kill things
It doesn't have a storyline, but there is still much greater progression in the game. At least you have goals to reach with valuable rewards (defeat X boss, get X item, open X area).

I actually managed to get my game refunded. Thanks, steam
Now time to go waste that $100 on tf2 keys

While both Terraria and starbound do not have a story, terraria doesn't lock content away from the user with a ton of unskippable quests. The only thing preventing progression in terraria is ultimately your own skill. Starbound not only has quests, but quests that are fetch quests with no story AND they are absolutely needed to progress even a tiny bit. You could be the best player in the game and you are still stuck behind quests for a good 5-10+ hours, just to reach content that doesn't actually "progress" but instead follows the age old RPG recolor formula, changing the color and difficulty of enemies, but they are still the same thing, just with gear included. Bosses are just a chore that involves a lot of material hunting just to get to the next level of different colored equipment and harder enemies.

They have to do some crazy stuff to make this game even slightly redeemable.

100% this

I still feel like this game should develop into an MMORPG and that it's early enough in development to make that feasible

the devs are WAYYY to lazy. they will never put any effort into starbound, so unfortunately i dont think this can happen

I think that's unfair. I think they put a fair amount of effort into the game.
They just don't usually put that effort into the right places.

It's not like there's zero development going on, it's just not the development we want/need.

yeah I'm pretty sure all updates for Starbound are forgethuge because they don't know how to patch gud

I've not encountered too much new yet, having installed the update, but I like my starter world a lot more than older ones.
Feels a lot more populated with ruins and dungeons. But there is a noticable repeat of the same things too.

I'd say to make sure you say hi to the coffee bitch for me, but you have to talk to her anyway to do anything :^)

unstable is okay now. with actually good quests and way more interesting landscapes, i would say it's almost worth the buying price now.

I got the unstable version but you're the only one on my steam friends who plays it so I'm confused on what it actually is
