But it is true.

Would you want a man who runs around in animal furs and gathering berries to be the captain of possibly the most important space expedition in the history of the universe?

^ most outright handicapped brown townogy i've ever heard because there's nobody that's even close to that.

here's some viable candidates for space captains other than Mary-Sue Xeno

Mary Sue characters are "Perfect, everyone loves them, they are smart and talented and have no problems"

Uhm yeh lern 2 mari soo.

Lance has a lazy "hurdur tiem traveul" backstory and Sergej hates everyone

so far Lance has the best build for a leader, based on personality alone. Nobody cares if your character has a "lazily scribbled" backstory, it's the general idea of how the character is like that matters.

Why thank you.

Just for that I call for a revote on the captain.

except he hates all anthromorphic creatres (potentially any alien) and has a typical "cool guy that is a hero all the time" persona

I personally think none of the characters are qualified to be captain. They have good sides but they all have at least 1 crippling factor in their personality that would make them bad as a captain.

Maybe we could all pitch in and sprite/backstory/name/etc a good captain for the ship and Swholli could accept that instead.

I'll poll it.

Here's a screen of the old poll for reference:

Edit: I also just realized I gave away my choice, lol.

Sorry Menen, I voted Nick, but you were still my second choice.

HOE R WE GOING 2 BE A TEM IF WE CANT ALL EGRE

Well considering it's 6 to 0 on new captain right now, I'd like to think you're all agreeing.

I like the make new captain character thingy.

I want the make new captain character thingy.

Yeah, so do I. I'm thinking that's a pretty fair assumption that we should do that.

So do you all want me to create the captain?

The Adventure Begins here:

It's the year 2567, the dawn of fifth age of man and end to a twenty year galactic civil war.

The two factions of the war, the Galactic Federation of Planets and the Galactic Republic of Planets, have finally called a truce. The Federation has been declared the winner.

As the vacuum of power is closing, the leader of the Federation, The High Votive, acting on the will of the Council, has set aside funds for a feel-good campaign to promote the Federation as a unifying power and to assert its dominance over the fallen Republic.

They have named it, The Endeavour Project.

Assembling a crew of different species and from both sides of the war, the crew has been given the task of constructing a ship and fitting it with the newly created Grav-Field-Gen 5 (or GFG5). An advanced shield generator that creates a magnet force so powerful, it can withstand G's up to insane levels. As such, The Endeavour Project aims to be the being-piloted space probe to ever enter a black hole.

The journey to the center of the galaxy will take approximately two months and no one can predict what will be encountered along the way.

The ship, once completed, will set sail on it's maiden voyage with the GFG5 in hopes of seeing what is on the other side. For science, for adventure, for the Federation.

The Endeavour Project must not fail.
