This is the completed ship sheet information with a sample showing you everything.
The name, the current level and Experience (also shown in the orange bar for an easy read).
The current primary and secondary weapons in use and the level of ammunition/power they have left
The ship's overall HP is the integrity of the ship itself. Be very careful about letting this one drop. In the orange and that means a hull breach, which means a startling lack of oxygen very quickly; get it into the red and the ship is destroyed.
The primary power core is the electricity that runs most of the ship's doings. There will be a cost to power every time you fire a plasma based weapon or if your ship's engineer needs to do any repairs while still in deep space. There is a backup core (as you can see) but it's significantly smaller and can't be used for tactical defense, only repairs. Get this bar into the orange and you've lost power and are switching to secondary. Get it into the red and it's permanently offline unless repaired. You will be able to recharge it at fueling stations, outposts and such.
The engine HP is the amount of damage the engine takes, either directly through attack or by "givin' 'er all she's got, cap'n." Orange means offline and in need of repair and red means totally destroyed, get a new one.
The fuel tanks are for the thrusters only, and they diminished very, very slowly that is unless the thrusters HP is in the orange. These can be refilled easily and often.
Lastly the thruster HP. Current average damage to the combined number of thruster's HP's. Like said, when in orange, one of the thrusters has developed a leak and fuel will begin leaking into space per amount of damage per turn. Red means you must lose one of your thrusters, you'll roll to determine which.
The perks are speed, shield, damage, and cloak.
Speed determines how much of a boost your thrusters give you, and thus, how many turns (and how much of your resources) you'll use before getting to the next destination. Faster speed means a quicker time and less lost fuel and energy.
Shield is the same as armor for your character, but for the total ship. +30 shield means -40 attacks would only do -10 actual damage.
Damage is how powerful your current weapons are. If you have proton torcreepes that normally only do -10, having a +5 bonus makes them -15.
Cloak is as it sounds. Certain enemy ships have detectors that can only read up to a certain number in cloak. If you have +30 cloak and the enemy can only detect ships with 20 cloak or less, then you are hidden to them and can attack them without being fired upon in return.
Every time you level up you'll be allowed to put points into one of the desired perks.
Levels determine the maximum HP either you, or your ship have at the time (for people all areas of the body increase, but you also get to pick which area you want to get a natural armor bonus).
