You've never laid eyes on such a rag tag group of individuals and called them a crew before.
You're not exactly used to no one wearing standard uniform, seeing as you've served most of your life in the Federation Star Navy. And such diversity. Not only non-humans, but there are even some former rebels amongst them. You were never exactly a fan of the war, but then the Republic was never kind to you, either.
This should make for an interesting trip.
Captain House: Good evening ladies, gentlemen, and non-men. As you're aware, we are about to embark on a historic and important mission for the good people of our homelands. I expect that, as your captain, I am hopefully able to serve you in the utmost dignity. If you respect me, I will respect you. This isn't just
my ship. It's
our home for the next few months, I run a rather lose ship considering our not-so-formal setting. Now, I want you to remember there are civilians down in the lower decks, and they will never deserve anything less than your best. We are to protect them as well as we would each other, and I want to see you all give it everything you have for the sake of the safety of ourselves and our ship. Lastly, I want to welcome you all aboard the Endeavour, officially. I look forward to the time we spend with each other. Now, if you don't mind, I need to call roll.
You pause, take a look at the roster, and begin.
Captain House: Second Officer Tach Aertyp?
Tach Aertyp: Aye-aye captain.
Captain House: Pilot Nikolas?
Nikolas: Present, sir.
Captain House: Communications Officer Etilletas?
Etilletas: Sir.
Captain House: Weapons Officer Paaron and Secondary Weapons Officer Bronson Jack?
Paaron: Aye.
Bronson Jack: Aye, sir.
Captain House: Science Officer Ensign Verigan?
He nods thoughtfully.
Captain House: Engineer Lance and Secondary Engineer Jack Golem?
Lance: Present.
Jack Golem: Here, sir.
Captain House: And finally, Chief Medical Officer Sergej Domi and Medical Officer Fouto Insigin?
Sergej Domi: Yo.
Fouto Insigin: Yes, sir.
Captain House: Alright, everyone back to your positions.

You return to the bridge and are about to take a seat in the captain's chair when Etilletas enters.
Etilletas: Permission to enter the bridge, sir?
Captain House: By all means, and next time, feel free to simply enter. I'm not that professional. I haven't strictly been following protocol since before the war.
Etilletas: Aye, Captain. We're being hailed by one of the freighter ships.
Captain House: On screen.

The croggy old alien's pale blue skin is accented next to his sunken blue eyes and wispy grey hair.
Freighter Captain: This is Cargo 427 to The Endeavour. Cargo 428's Captain and I have prepared this small speech to greet you: first, stay out of our way. You may think you're calling the shots here, but you're just security detail. We've been shipping Omega across the FTLways for centuires and we can handle some Suixjen pirates. Second, this is a formal warning. If you attempt to tell us how to command our ships, we will not hesitate to fire upon you and call it a scan malfunction. C-427, out.
Captain House: Well, he certainly seems friendly.
Tach Aertyp: Captain, what should we do?
