Author Topic: The Forgettable Dungeon: Early Access Release  (Read 424968 times)

tried to launch a singleplayer game, then looked into the console for an explanation and:

a quick look into the files confirms that all of the server stuff is straight up missing.  the game has literally nothing to load.

gg can't wait for the server

the previous public test release from last year didn't have single player either

the only public build of the game with functioning single player is @ team

(also pageloss)
Uploading two vids, one is the last 5 minutes of the run Rotondo and I did before Plastiware, Electrk, and Ipquarx joined in and the second is our full 13:20 run including the bits where we mess around. They're unlisted since I wanted to make a nicer looking "highlights" vid that didn't include my desktop in the background.

Wasn't sure if Shadowplay would work with fullscreeen, (it didn't last time and I had to use FRAPS) so I hit record with the desktop in focus before tabbing back in and played windowed.

EDIT:
Video One
and
Video Two

That looked fun.

Should probably give the boss more heath dependent on the amount of online players, though.

Also, idea: A cursed item that does nothing but buff/debuff the boss, removing/adding health, damage, or other stuff

Plastiware asked for this but if anyone else wants to check it out, here are the original raw files from the temporary music, https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/84374900/%40TeamRandomMusic.zip

I've been working today trying to fix the issues that occurred in the last test, hoping I can get stuff working then do another test tonight.

I think the games at a point now where doing random tests like this are needed to get things I missed.

Edit: adde din the main menu theme song as well, forgot about that.

i'd love it if the next test could happen around the time of your last message so us europeans can get in on that sweet forgettable action too

o yeah forgot to mention that it's really nice that my logitech controller works now, because it doesn't work in @ team or your Robotron remake

(completely off topic but I'd like to see if the Hori Twinstick EX works with the Robotron remake, it probably does but I'll find out in a month or two)

I'll mix up the times but I'm usually a night owl sadly.

That is really weird because it totally shouldn't work lol.

Right now it's just detecting the word "xbox" in controller names, I'm happy it worked but I'll have to look into that further in the future.

What logitech controller is it by the way?

Someone asked for the editor/gui editor for @Team prototype so I released it here if you want it, https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/84374900/The%40TeamEditor.zip

Edit: just realized I forgot to include the main menu song in the raw music pack.

It's a Logitech F310.

That is strange, if you get a chance start the client i gave out then type in:

Code: [Select]
echo( getJoystickName(0) );
Tell me what it says, this should be interesting.

Started implementing a more varied attack for the skeleton

started up the client with the controller plugged in and got the no controller detected message

now I'm extremely confused

but apparently that doesn't matter because the console reports back the F310!

I mean...it's not wrong, there's no 360 controller :P

That is strange, it shouldn't enable controller support unless it detects the word xbox in the controller name. Regardless I have to add rebinding and general controller support sometime soon.

An illustration on why camera shake is important,

No camera shake:

Camera shake:

It really ramps up the feeling that real stuff is going down.

Skeleton spin attack, with hitbox.

And this is a great moment to realize that when in camera mode you don't always see pixels explode from objects, great. That'll be fun to track down.

the advance struggles of missing something you'd never believe would betray you

i assume this is a problem with the gif's quality and not the game
