Now that the hype is all and done, I've been thinking about the flaws of the game a bit more clearly.
The story was pretty damn awesome to experience and its something that has motivated me to write a five dimensional story that deals with social issues, philosophies, and Quantom tomfoolery. Think satirical edge and humor of Boondocks mixed with A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy's philosophical humor and Quantom trolling about a perpetual war between several powerful factions across other dimensions. Anyway that's off topicbbut yeah, minus a few plotholes that Neogaf helped fill a bit better and some underdeveloped characters and various glitches, I enjoyed it overall.
Now, the combat is something that while fun to me, may not be for others. The siren fight for one thing was pretty bad imo. Patriots were fun to fight actually to me. Handymen aren't to bad actually even in 1999 mode so long as there were the skylines to ride upon. Speaking of which, I felt the skylines were a bit underutilized, why I'm not really sure but its a nagging feeling to me. They could've added some actual puzzles to break up the fights as well as better explore the city and the story like using vigours to propel Elizabeth to even higher heights to activate switches and all that stuff. I'm also a little disappointed that what was in the demo wasn't in the game as I felt like it better utilized the combat there. Some of the more critical (and maybe controversial) reviewers like Yahtzee, TB, and Errant Signal talk about these gameplay issues quite a bit that I kinda have to agree upon to an extent. I really am not a fan of these guys, especially Yahtzee but they pull up some pretty like good points about the gameplay. Hopefully the DLC can fix these issues a bit better as well as explore the land of Columbia like who is Songbird or the Lutece twins. Because despite all this, I really do care about Bioshock and Infinite is still a good game to me. It's just that there's really no reason for me to replay it now. Hopefully things may change for the better.
Speaking of Bioshock, who wants a new System Shock game? Cause I really do.
