i think he means they are trying to follow in the same foot steps as blockland.

Blockland's shadows look better because an orange bearded overlord came along, ate our terrains and interiors and spat out the shadows and shaders we see today

Uhhh, look at the new update. We are dead.

It's... GORGEOUS! (for once)

Still looks like garbage up close.  This really just makes it look like a quake map.

It looks pretty good, how things from darker to lighter except I noticed that not all bricks have shadows, for some reason only some bricks do. In this case the trees have light shadows and so does my player except the bench doesn't.

Eh, at least it looks gorgeous from afar :cookieMonster:

I also noticed, which I don't really like this is that they have a sort of draw/render distance for the shadows. You only see the shadows and a certain amount of them depending on how close you are.

EDIT: Final note (for today at least), the shadowing isnt really that good. Only a certain amount of objects have shadows (seems like an engine limitation or they are doing this for performance). Player lighting is not integrated with the voxel lighting (confirmed by an admin, well be added later). Some things are just odd about the lighting, the effect going from darker to lighter is really cool and nice but having some objects have shadows and have others not makes it really awkward.

Now they need to add spectrum and normal maps to everything to appear chewed up. (Because I remember when I was little, with legos, and they were stuck the forget together, I'd pull them apart with my teeth. What do you expect from MegaScience the moron? If one of you had a time machine, you could easily kill me. :cookieMonster:)

(Im sort of annoyed at Badspot/Kompressor now at the lighting we have)
But our lighting is great and dynamic IMO

Sure the dots don't look the greatest but all the lighting is fully dynamic and you can't loving beat that.
