games like epic yarn and ssb were supposed to be their own new games

Far from dying.
Just because it doesn't appeal to you, a 'hardcore' gamer, doesn't mean it's dying.

Because Nintendo offers a totally different gaming experience than Sony or Microsoft.
That and the 'next gen consoles' will probably just have a bunch of games that I can play on the PC.
While these 'next gen consoles' will still and forever be locked at '1080p', a lot of us will continue playing mostly the same games on our PCs which for the most part (unless you have a tiny '1024p' monitor like mine), will support over '1080p' HD quality resolution.

Yes, little tiny $50 monitors are equal or greater in quality (in a more compact form) than a huge $500 TV.

buying wii U for this.
Forgot about this, I hope they go through with it.

Nintendo will still be around because of one man.

They are going through with it, it has an Autumn release

The Wii u isn't the end of a generation, it is the beginning of a new one.

Didn't Sony come out with the "Playstation Move" stuff after the Wii came out?

Sounds to me like Nintendo is setting a template for other companies.

Their last console was the Dreamcast. It was a huge failure because of mostly timing. It was released at the end of its era.

Sega's Dreamcast was the first console of the generation

Funny because the ps2 eyetoy came out first

Era != Generation

An era is a period of time where similar things are popular.

A generation is a 20 year time frame.

By saying it came out at the end of the era means that it was released amid a market looking for a different product.

A generation is a 20 year time frame.

by that logic the first generation of video games took place in the late 1800s

according to wikipedia:
First generation (1972–1977)
Second generation (1976–1984)
Third generation (1983–1992)
Fourth generation (1987–1996)
Fifth generation (1993–2006)
Sixth generation (1998–2013)
Seventh generation (2004–)
Eighth generation (2011–)
