"Everyone stay quiet for a minute. Williams, patch me through to the fleet."

The commissioner adjusts his beret and straightens his collar, his uniform weakly illuminated by the blueish glow radiating from the bridge's many computers.

"Soldiers. Men and women of the ISF. Good morning. Commissioner Morgan here - I apologize for interrupting your morning routine, but I have a few words I'd like to share and I promise they will be brief.

I know how difficult it's been to adjust. I know that many of you have lost your comrades, your brothers in arms, your loved ones. I know that the hunger, the grief and the exhaustion are heavy burdens that have been unjustly forced upon each and every one of us, in our darkest of days.

But what I also know is that I've been blessed with command of the toughest and bravest men and women that the universe could ever hope to see. Serving alongside all of you is the greatest honor that could have ever been bestowed upon me, and there is NOTHING in the world that I would trade such an honor for.

We WILL prevail, soldiers, and we will have justice. Our fallen comrades will be avenged. We will settle for nothing less, I promise you.

Order above all else. Commissioner Morgan, over and out."

The man nonchalantly takes a sip of his coffee as the comm system is deactivated, sighing in exhasperation before he turns to the nearest officer on the bridge.

"You, ensign! Stop drooling over that console. Scan the system and give me a full report, pronto. I want to know what we're dealing with here. Furthermore, have someone work on intercepting those transmissions if at all possible, we are not going in unprepared. Dismissed!"

As the ensign salutes and scurries off, Morgan diverts his attention to the frontal section of the bridge, gazing at the vast expanse of space before his eyes. He cups his hands behind his back while contemplating the situation at hand, his facial expression betraying a vague mixture of grief, anger and determination.

If it's possible, track the fleet's warp to see where they were headed.

ISF

Your crew approves. Your speech had given them a very notable incrise in morale. Most regard you with high respect and salute instantly whenever you walk down a coridoor or happen to be near them.

Scorpion Pilot: "Copy that fleet command...Scorpion running scans...now."
Scorpion Pilot: "Running D-Scan...uh lets see...I wish they updated this thing so it doesn't show things I know."
Scorpion Pilot: "Switching to active objects only."
Scorpion Pilot: "We are...clear. Nothing of interest."

Scorpion Pilot: "Running System Scan."
Scorpion Pilot: "Uhuh...sir we got an unidentified cluster of objects floating in space."
Scorpion Pilot: "That's the only, interesting thing I came up with. Scorpion Over and Out."

Comms Officer: "Right. The chatter went out two hours ago. Ever since that. Complete and utter silence. Sir."

Wolf Company

Your navigation officer suggests it is the second pirate outpost.

"Very well. Scorpion shall be designated Echo 1, the rest of the fleet shall be evenly split between squadrons Alpha and Bravo. Command shall answer to callsign Overlord. Set shields to full power and prime weapons systems. We will set a course for the cluster and advance with caution.

Echo 1, do your best to identify any threats as we approach. You're cleared to disable the systems of any hostile ship detected, but prioritize those with cyber-warfare capabilities of their own. Furthermore, attempt to identify those objects - I want to know whether they're rocks or mines.

Squadrons Alpha through Bravo, stand at the ready. Focus fire if it comes to that, your officers will designate the highest priority targets as they emerge. Overlord out."

Have the fleet mobilize immediately. They'll likely be expecting us now, might as well catch them while the're preparing.

"All hands, prepare for another engagement!  We've lost the element of surprise, prepare for he worst!"

"No. We need to get that message through. But why couldn't we get the message through ourselves?"

"We left fro earth and our defective comm. link intercepted it by accident. This should no longer be an issue."

"Sparks fixed the Link......right?"

"Yyyup."

"So, our tritanium mine is doing quite well, I hear."
"Yes sir. It is a very rich mine."
"Hmm...  What all can we do with this stuff anyways?"
"Well, it can be used to build ships."
"Get one of the engineers in here to tell us what would be the smartest thing do with this stuff."
"Yes sir."

ISF

Echo 1: "Callsign Overlord, This is Echo 1. We can't get a proper reading on those objects. They don't respond to anything in our database. Over."

Wolf Company

Your fleet mobilizes per demand. The pirates are unrurly after they hear their breathren came for them.
But that's as much as the guards rumored to them. They do not know their friends were obliterated.
None the less. Your fleet prepares to warp on your command they will go to the next outpost and attack.

Scrapheap

Rogue drones come out of the salvage. Five of them begin to attack you. Your mercenaries warn you that they will not be able to win without losses. You have a split second to run.

AFR

"Sir. As you have demanded. My suggestion would be to focus the scientists and engineers towards blueprint construction. As you know. We were only sent to construct basic living conditions and that is as far as our ability extends. To build any ships, we must have a proper shipyard constructed. So far, we have no blueprint."

"Overlord here. Roger that, Echo 1. Fleet is to continue approach and utilize the tactics previously outlined, let's see what we're dealing with. Over."

"Then have them research blueprints. Preferably something we could use for defense if needed, after that, research something that could help us make living conditions a bit better."

Have the brig locked down tight to prevent any resistance, give everyone time to prepare, then warp.

Scrapheap stands their ground and attacks.

"Alright, I've been getting complaints from you suckers. You want to settle in? We settle in. Start setting up tents, grills, the works. This will be our little campout."

ISF

Upon your approach there seem to be several differently sized objects in front of you. They seem armed. The bigger the size the bigger the guns. Nothing in your database corresponds to these objects. You realize they are ships, but there is no pilot seats as you don't make out a roosterpit. None the less you concluded they are ships due to their turrets and impulse drives in the back. They are peacefully drifting trough space. Seemingly offline.

AFR

The research begins. But with inadequate spaces and equipment it will take time.
You hear there has been an ... "incident" at the mine.

You are notified once more, about the person who wishes to open a fast food joint.

Wolf Company

To your surprise. The moment you arrive after warping, the whole place is mysteriously. Empty. Not a single life reading or a ship. Just infrastructure left behind.

Scrapheap

As you fail to realize the dangers of rogue drones they immidieatly converge onto one of your frigates. The pilot had never dealt with these kind of things before and in confusion he fails to manage his shileds properly. Over the comms you obviously realize he was excited and afraid. Full of adrenaline, shaking like an earthquake the young mercenary tries to warp out. But it is too late. All that you hear are his final...screams, not breaths.

The second mercenary calls you a lunatic and fires off several missiles at the drones. Only successfully putting down one of them. Four of them converge onto the second pilot.

You have a split second to make your next decision.

NFSC

Everyone is pleased they have settled in for a time. Word reaches you, the young fellow, the nerd of the ship. Had grown a thing for one of the girls on the colony. It seems everyone pulling a team effort to make him not look like a complete idiot.
He seems very shy.

Run.

[OOC] Holy crap, we're talking drones here and frigates are dropping like flies. WTF?
