You descend with no issues. But the error the computer was mentioning soon enough comes obvious. There are weird shapes on the planet in terms of rock and soil. Maybe there's something below?

None the less you land and your crew gets out with it's equipment. You use your salvage equipment to mine.
It is a very slow process and it will take time as the salvaging gear is not meant for mining the minerals.

Wolf Company

The door is blown open. To your surprise, the lunatic steps trough the smoke of the explosion. Most of the place catches fire. The fire spreads towards the storage to the ore. The ore seems to be heating up and responding in an explosive chain of events. The lunatic seems strapped with explosives. He runs out trough the dust and your unsuspecting forces are blown up along with him. You lose ten men and the whole storage is devoured by explosions. The morale is significantly decreased and most doubt your ability to lead them trough these hard times. You hear they call you unprofessional and foolhardy.

"Go for coal and other fuels only. We could use them after we wasted so much warping around."
"Why? We could make a killing!"
"A killing? We're high off of scrap metal. We need stuff to make us go fast to make us get more scrap metal. We need nothing else."

While modern ships use deuterium to fuel their impulse drives.
You can use the original coal and fuel to run your ship aswell.
However it has proven to cause fires and there have been issues containing smoke.

You successfully collect coal and any sort of fuels you could find.
Perhaps it'd be a good idea to search for a water planet.
That is where deuterium is found.

You can't help but notice that the weird shapes of the land could be structures.

The commander, under such pressure, is obviously stressed.  He orders all men to evacuate the facility immediately and take the rest of the day off.  The commander requests to see a map of the area to plot their next movements.

The facility is instantly evacuated. Most are glad to be off that forsaken asteroid colony. Some curse the commanders name due to their lost comrades. The region map is given to you. The systems here are tightly packed together. It would present no issue to travel from one to the other.

Your current system Poinen. Has a couple of stations focused around different planets.

Continue to build perminate structures within the perimeter. Send out a group of men to go looking for the thing that killed the 2 teenagers.

The development can not be hurried. Unless most of the civilians were pushed towards construction worker careers.
The group is sent out and begins to search for the predator. Your engineers, from the tritanium mine contact you.

"Sir. We need a storage. Our efficency is 100%. There's a high yield of tritanium here. It's time to develop roads."

"Let's move on. Check for more planets. Search for water."

You and your crew pack up. Soon enough you end up in space once more. A water planet is detected.
Your pilot takes you there. To your surprise, there seems to be some sort of refueling station.
But it's not something you've ever seen before. It is not of human design. It seems it has been quite some time since it was used.

I agree with the engineers and begin construction of a road, leading to the engineers. I also allow people to leave the city freely, but caution them of the danger.

Check if the machine works.

AFR

The construction of a road begins. They say it will take a week before it is fully functional.
Basic transport vehicle deployment begins. You are limited to two vehicles. To have more, you must build more.
Sadly you have no blueprints.

The machine works. It even can fit into your ships fuel line. It seems relatively peaceful on the planet. The air is breathable. It is oxygen.

OOC question. I am going to introduce a proper resource managment and an economy. Which way do you suggest we do this?

1. I keep tabs on the first post on all player assets, money and resources.
2. The respective players edit their assets and the rest themselves on their creation and design post. (if caught cheating, will be elimenated from the game)
3. I keep a small folder on my PC and a notepad within on player factions, their assets, currency and the rest.

The commander finds the coordinates of the next colony, and sends the co-ordinates to the bridge.  He orders the communications officers to first attempt to make contact with the colony.  As well, the commander makes an announcement:

"Ladies and gentlemen of the Wolf naval company, this is your commander speaking.  Our most recent mission as we all know ended unexpectedly, as well as terribly.  I hold myself to blame, of course, for my foolish commands.  Times are understandably tough, for all of us, I myself have a family at home who I miss dearly.  However, we cannot let this cloud our thoughts, not yet.  Our top priority now is survival.  Without food, water, or fuel, we cannot survive.  Understand that I only wish for us all to return home.  For this to happen, I require your co-operation and loyalty.  That is all."

im terrible

Also,
3. I keep a small folder on my PC and a notepad within on player factions, their assets, currency and the rest.

OOC I don't understand what you mean on #2

OOC I don't understand what you mean on #2

It means you keep tabs of your own assets.

There were no more similiar colonies. Instead your officers suggest visiting a nearby station. Upon contacting them you recieve a short brief response. "Go away, we'll shoot if you come close! Cursed pirates!" Some of the men seem inspired by the speech. Morale had been restored to some.
