"Whatever it takes to get us there. I'm going to bed, I hope you suckers don't screw this up for me."

Within the next 24 hours, the captain of the ship shall know the results.
The crew begins to work tirelessly and will probably exchange every now and then.
It is a tiring business.

When the living accommodations are finally finished, about 40% of the population is moved in. Civilians are allowed to move around freely, but are cautioned not to leave the perimeter. News soon follows that a group of about 20 people have made it past the perimeter.
"20 people!?"
"Its what we're estimating, sir."
"I thought I told you to keep the perimeter on lockdown, no one in, no one out!"
"We have kept it on lockdown, sir, but they snuck past somehow. Should we send men out to find them?"
"No. They left on their own, they can come back on there own."
"Thats a bit harsh, what if they get hurt-"
"I dont care if they get hurt. You are dismissed."

It just so happens those 20 are teenagers. Girls and boys out for trouble, adventure, exploration.
Some for romancing their "companions". Their parents begin to complain and insist on them being found.
Some even demand they go out themselves to find them.

"Sir, many people are complaining about you not sending anyone after those 20 civilians. Some are even threatening to go out and search for them themselves."
"Urgh. You tell someone that they arent allowed to do something, they do it, and they expect YOU to fix the problem. Fine. Send a few armed guards to go looking for them, and tell them to be back within the hour. Report what they find."
"Yessir."
"And if the civilians are found, take them into custody aboard the ship."

Only after a few minutes of searching a group of them, around twelve is found at a certain spot. It seems they are sitting on two different logs and talking to each other, messing around and showing off their gadgets.

After being detained by guards they point out a couple had gone further into the woods.

"Leave the 8 that couldnt be found alone. Tell their families that we couldnt find them."
"But these are just teenagers-"
"I know that. Be sure to put extra guard on duty around the perimeter. Make sure no one goes out looking for them."
"What about the teens we have in custody?"
"Let them go. Make sure the parents know that what they have done could have costed them their lives. We have no clue what is out there."
"Anything else?"
"Get a researcher up here to report to me what they have found so far."

Six of them return later that night. Two are still missing.
The researchers stall their report. They claim they need more time.

Attempt to override quarantine procedures.

"Tell the researchers to hurry up with that report. At this stage, it means everything."

I return.
"Status report."

Wolf Company Lieutenant. Sends out a squad of engineers. The engineers take some time but they find a way to the control room from the outside. You can literally see them bask in the glory of their suits , supported by rocket thrust coming from their both legs.  After an hour or so you finally hear the word that the quarantine had been lifted. But one of the engineers informs you that the interior is not pretty at all. It seems a horrifying event had taken place on the station.

Your soldiers, after the quarantine had been lifted, "flood" the many hallways and rooms of the colony. But the deeper they go the more complaints you recieve. They don't want to stay there any longer. The place riddled with death. Bodies, blood, stench. One points out that there are writings written out on the wall , it reads.

"Not my flesh! NOT MY FLESH! NOOT MY FLEEEEEESH!"

One of the squads retrives an audio log. They ask if they should bring it back to you for brown townyasis.

The researchers of planet Nova warn you that you need to find the missing two teengers.

Reasearcher: "You see, perhaps they have seen something others have not. I would also ask we send out squads for brown townysis of the planet. We have yet to come across any liquid in the area. We would like to venture out into the forest and gather samples of the water. At a river, or a pond, maybe a lake. We did not manage to see the landing zone quite well. Is there even an ocean or a sea nearby?"

Word reaches you that screaming had been heard last night in the forest. The two did not return.
The civilians recieve additional militancy and concioucness among their behavior. They are begining to distrust you.
But they will not take up arms, yet.

Research report:

Soil: Very fertile. Local plants are thriving. Food testing had begun. If this is food at all. We have to do a detailed brown townysis of minerals. We should head to the mountains and brown townyze the ore and basic composition.
We will plant potatos, strawberries and others and see how it goes.

Air: The air seems too purified. Almost like, it's not Earth. Well it isn't. But we are getting used to it. Some have been vomiting when they landed. There is SOMETHING in the air. We are not sure what. We are almost certain that the ozone is much much stronger than the one back on Earth. This shouldn't however encourage us to pollute it...

Water: We have been unable to reach a water source.

Grass: The grass here seems to be just like back on Earth. Except for the few changes that this one can last out even during winter. How, we do not know yet.

Wildlife: There were no ecounters with wildlife, yet. Some have reported glowing eyes within the sourounding forest.
Some insist they have seen birdlike creatures.

Insects: We have not ecountered any insectlike creatures. Which is strange.

Weather: The weather seems stable, so does the nearby star. Our brown townyasis suggests the winter is six months away.

Temperature: The temperature can reach up to staggering 50 C. The local plants seem very adjusted to that.
In the following months we expect a maximum of thirty celsius. It seems we have landed when the planet had just entered its spring on this side of the planet.

NFSC

"Sir we got. We got it." One of the crew members comented. His eyes red. He had no sleep at all. The black eye pockets below his eyes suggesting that aswell. The rest are no better. This one just happens to be the best of them and most needed.

"The gravimetric signature is a...well..wormhole sir. A big, big wormhole. That is what the scans say..."
"The coordinates are written down into the computer navigation, we can warp whenever you are ready."

Retreive audio log, find administrators's office, find fuel/food/water, and return to orbit.

"Sir, the general population is quite upset that you didn't find the other 2 teenagers. Some have even reported that they heard screaming last night..."
"God dammit. I'm no good at running a large group of people... Fine... Send a group of men to go out looking for the missing teens. Tell them to not come back until they have found something."
"And the researchers? They asked permission to go out and study the wildlife of this planet."
"Allow it, but make sure that they are escorted by a guard and stay in contact with me. We can't have our own researchers missing, aswell."
A researcher is called in
"You are positive that you haven't found anything poisonous in the air?"
"Correct, sir."
"Then you are dismissed. I think it's time we settle down here for the longterm."
Engineers and workers are sent out to begin construction of more permanent buildings. The perimeter is extended, and more and more people are moved out of the ships, and into actual buildings.

Wolf Company

Despite the efforts of the commander to hurry this, it is impossible. The men finally get to the storage and it is barricaded and full of traps. It seems someone locked themselves in on the other side and placed a ton of mining equipment, modified it and locked him self in. All the mining equipment had been placed in front of the door in a traping manner. Beams, lasers, explosives and what not.

He or she seem to have sprayed in front. "Try going trough. I dare you."
There seem to be several attempts to get trough. It is obvious that it has ended very badly.
Limbs and blood is scattered around.

The fuel is easily recovered, as no one really needed it. Everyone wanted the food and water.
The baricaded doors of the storage are opened by one of the soldiers from the administrators office.
His body was found in his office. He seems to have offed him self.

Upon further inspection of the office. The camera monitors were found. But the room for the storage has no video coverage. Everything suggests it was intentionally ripped off. Sound still work however.

One of the soldiers speaks into the microphone: "Uh...helloooo..."
A violent backlash of monstrous words is returned: "YOU WILL NOT GET MY FLESH! NOT MY SKIN! AAAAAAAAAAA! THE VOICES AGAIN! THE VOIIIIIIIICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ES!"

Soldier: "Jesus..."

A sergeant notices the conversation and steps trough to the microphone , pushing the soldier aside.
Sergeant: "Look. We don't want your flesh nor your skin. We just want the food and water."
The lunatic responds: "OOOOH BUT THAT IS WHAT THEY ALL WANT! YOU WILL NOT GET MY FOOD! NOR MY WATER! I NO SHAKE LIKE OTHERS! I NO EAT HUMEN!"

He seems to have serious mental scarring and issues. It is questionable if he could be reversed to an earlier state over time. A state where he was, normal.

Sergeant: "Can you tell us what happened here?"
The lunatic: "NO FOOD! NO WATER! THEY EAT EACH OTHER! I RUN! I LOCK! I STEAL ALL FOOD AND WATER! THEY NO WANT RATION!"

Sergeant: "Right."
The lunatic: "NO RIGHT! WROOOONG! WROOOOOOOOOONG! VOICES BAD! GO AWAY!"

Sergeant: "Can you at least turn off the traps and disarm the explosives?"
The lunatic:" NO! NO! YOU NO EAT ME! I LIVE!"

The sergeant keeps trying to reason with the lunatic.

Sergeant: "We are, soldiers, an army, we can help you. We are going to starve if you don't let us in. We can take you away from here."
The lunatic: "Raaargh....you take me?! WHERE?! Doesn't matter...me want leave! ME WANT GO HOME! Mommy...*sobs*."
Sergeant: "Just...disarm it all."

**Silence.**

Sergeant: "God loving damn it."

The audio log plays in your quarters. You and some of your men, listen to it.

Log begins.

**Banging on a heavily barricaded door.**
**A somewhat ludacrious voice speaks.**

"Samson...that you?! Samsoooon...I can...I can smell you!"
"Samson! Let us in! We're hungry Samson!"

**Something is heard in the background.**

"WHO THERE?!"
"FRESH MEAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!"

**The person runs off, a female voice is heard in the background. Your only guess is canibalism.**

Unknown 1: *Whisper* "Oh thank god...he left...they know I'm here...I have to barricade...I have to do something...I don't wanna die."

Unknown 1: *Whisper* "In case something happens to me, you need to know what happened."
Unknown 1: *Whisper* "Some of the men, when the food got low and everything started being rationed, turned to canibalism. At first...people began dissapiering...but then it spread like a plague. Everyone turned to it. Like animals they ate each other. Formed packs, survival of the fittest. Some drank blood instead of water to quench their thirst. I'm not even sure how that works.

Unknown 1: *Whisper* "And then, silence. Only a few remain...I hope they starve out before I do...I got my self a matress...I'll...piss in the corner...or...something. The storage has food and water...I'll manage..."

Unknown 1: *Whisper* "Engineer Samson logging off...

Unknown 2: "SAMSON! I STILL SMELL YOU!!!!!!!"

Log ends.

One of your soldiers suggests to simply blow up the barricades.
The other disagrees and thinks that would seal off the whole storage and perhaps destroy the contents.
Altho your sergeant claims he can get trough to the lunatic and convince him to disarm.

One of the corridors lights up with gunfire. Then silence.

AFR

So it is, that the perimeter is extended and the permanent building deployed. It will take quite sometime to errect a proper settlement. But with the hospitable conditions, it will work out.

The soldiers which set out to find the teens, about ten kilometers out find two corpses. Fresh. Eaten down to the bone and unrecognizable. There's a fair ammount of bile on the remains of the clothing. One of them pukes at the sight. They report that the teens are dead. The colonists demand a burial and mourn the loss of the two.

It is now obvious there are predators on this planet. The researchs report creatures which live off the plants and grass. But they were unable to capture any of them. Predators are nowhere to be seen. A birdlike nest was found. An egg was retrived and placed in a secure observation glass box.

The engineer lead demands permission to head out into the mountains and study the composition with the scientists in order to determine if they can mine building materials and similiar.
