For once I smiled. This was a good time. My life was going in the right direction, a good hotel room that allows cats, and now I had a time to relax and go on with my own mind, no commands, no shooting, no nothing. Just peace, I looked out the window and saw a man, I didn't recognize him outside in the parking lot, tipped my hat to him smiling, and continued to read my newspaper and sip coffee. What a nice day.
Then again, I thought. I did just get shot yesterday. Well that lowered the mood a little bit, remembering the bandages around my back. Oh god, put that away, unless you fall from a second story window you should be fine. I focused mainly on my newspaper and the people in the coffee shop, it was quiet, okay, and normal. Nothing wrong here, nobody with a gun. I began to calm my thoughts down and went back to drinking coffee and reading the newspaper.
