I don't think you get how nine year olds work. If a nine year old saw a cute outfit, they'd probably go over and pet it or hug it. You know, like mascots? Those thing that everyone is totally loving okay with? Are you gonna start a petition to get mascots at Disneyland removed?

The only people who hate them are the people who have been socialized to hate them by spending time around peers who tell them "hate x". Much like racism (PLEASE NOTE that I am aware the two are nothing alike and that furries will never experience the same hardships that oppressed races have. I am merely comparing the sociological cause of the two), no one is born with an inate hatred towards one race, it's taught to your by people saying " yo look how smelly and lazy and poor and criminal these people are how can you not hate them "
Try stepping away from the computer and interacting with people who don't spend their life online, instead of edgy angsty teens hiding behind anonymity, and you'll see that most people's reaction is either amusement, or curiosity. I've seen it over and over again: the absolute thrill on children's faces as they run up to give a giant dog a hug, followed by smiles on their parents' faces. We'll get a lot of parents coming up to us asking what this is and thanking us for doing it
