Its pretty nice since they buffed the status chance on it, also rifle ammo scavengermutation mod is absolutely needed for the weapon

Sure it's not as strong against the ancients, but you can always build for that and still have the gas damage.

Corrosive/Heat build as double-tap for Void and Infested. Best build.

Viral damage can divide an enemy's hp in half. Does it always do this or does it depend on how much status you have?

it always does that when the status finally procs.
its what makes my dual ichors OP as hell as well as my sentinel.

nothing like watching a enemy charge at you only to get half its hp eaten up by sentinel shotgun viral.
