okay I am far under the requirements to play GTA V on my laptop, but is there any way to make the game stop thinking that the keys are sticking down?

I think this is the issue
I get it a lot too and it's a pain in the ass to play with
I've noticed it's worse with lower FPS, so I've set my settings to lowest and resolution to the smallest to try and remove it completely
when driving and you notice it's happening, don't hold down W to go forward, hold it for a bit and release for a short moment to refresh it, that way you can still turn when you need to and not 15 seconds after you crash into the tree you're trying to avoid

I've learned something actually pretty interesting. LCPDFR/whatever police mod fans like me may like this a lot.

I was messing around in director mode and trying out cop models, and as it turns out, for the female deputy, people will act like you're an actual cop in the game. I stole a cruiser, and the police officers outside the department started yelling and looking around, but walked right past me and ignored me. Then I got into a shootout, and the police arrived because of my wanted level, but they actually started trying to help me out by only shooting at the Ballas. It was pretty fun.

though i know stuff like this happened on the consoles, now you don't need to hack it in and may help out modders a bit more
