Did you download it retail or from Steam?

Because somehow or another you are in the minority experiencing the issue, thus it is something on your side. They can fix it, sure, but they don't have to.
Dunno what "slow download speeds" you're talking about, went plenty fast for me.
if there are thousands of people experiencing this, when they mostly bought their game via retail, like third party websites or even the warehouse, it could very well be a problem on rockstars end. hell it might not even be rockstars end, it could also be the third party.

of course i'd like to see some examples of rockstar help tickets where people have had the same experience.

Through the Social Club diddly.

tfw people come over just to download GTAV

please tell me that was self radio music

Self radio is by far the swaggiest part of gta

-snip-
I've also been having tons of problems with the non-steam version
takes forever to download even with a ~1000 mb/s download/upload
that and tons of problems with trying to get it to join other people at first
along with issues of updates completely breaking it and forcing a full reinstall

a lot of my time has been spent trying figure out how to get the game to run, often times with backwards ass methods like disabling nvida drivers, launching, and then quickly reenabling them
fortunately they finally fixed that

and kishgal, try not to make yourself look like an idiot anymore
you're doing a good job of it so far, not sure you wish to continue

just because issues aren't affecting you doesn't mean it's somebody elses fault for experiencing them

Oh, boo hoo, someone here knows how to work a computer, forget them, eh?

Downloadin at 350kb/s, said it'd take 17 hours at 1mb/s, can't wait to play in like 4 days

look its pretty obvious that rockstar's pc servers are a bit forgeted but your location def. figures into it too. not to say that you're completely at fault but uh the taboo man is somewhat right. regardless i hope R* works out the weirdo kinks in their delivery system. chill vibes to all :)

Getting on soon, anyone in the BL crew want to do something?

It sounds like you are having the same problem as I. When it froze, disconnecting and reconnecting my internet worked to get it going again. It also dl'd faster at night (less traffic)?
If it ends up corrupting one of your files, the game will crash with the message "Failed ZLIB Call" everyone once in awhile or immediately.

It will tell you to reinstall, but you just have to find and delete the corrupted file(s). This can save you dozens of hours of downloading.

I had to scan them manually, but a user on Reddit posted a Python script to do it for you.
http://www.reddit.com/r/GTAVpc/comments/32k6ub/gta_v_failed_zlib_call_fix/cqsw3rg

To run it:
Install Python (http://www.python.org)
Put your script in a file titled "gtafix.py" in the Python folder
Change the script's GTA directory to your own
Run the script and delete the files it says do not match

Hope it helps someone.
