And the tweet that followed:

The ASWAT (Afkoshlian SWAT) had finally, after decades, found the leader of a terrorist cell called the Al'Ashim Paraikat, which had been operated, originally, by a group of Irrklaandic men living in the Arab Confederation, (oddly enough, none of their attacks occurred in the Arab Confederation; they just used the AC as a place to hide) who, thankfully for a local PD investigating calls of suspicious men, had been silenced. However, one of the original leaders named Parska Japnai had moved to Mexiva, the capital city of South Mexica. Quoth the ASWAT's president, Jose Perrendos: "We are very happy to have found this horrible man and finally silenced the cell. We can only thank the Al'Harabi Police Department for getting rid of this horrible blot on our history. We thank you, Arab Confederation."
Supposedly this is supposed to be really nice and us at Mexica really hope it is.

Erinamese politicians are beginning to disagree with TB's dealings with Abdullahi.  A recent poll in Erinaum's government reveals that 63% of legislators label the TB's actions as unfair.

Nizjin Duale, whip for the Erinamese Liberal Party said in a statement last week,  "The TB's actions with Abdullahi have been nothing but leaning against Abdullahi and setting up barriers in an aggressive and unfair manner, one that no one expected when the TB government had said that that they would be willing and happy to deal with Abdullahi diplomatically."

Government-issued polls sent out to the public reveal that 48% of the public did not approve of TB's actions, 22% accepted TB's actions, 22% of the public did not hear of the event and were shocked at TB's actions.  8% were unaware and didn't care about the situation.

The Erinaumese made it none of their business when they decided to stay neutral, and are politely asked to stick to their neutral stance as TB member and ally of the AC.  Would you just let the DSR take  land in Erinaum wholly at the expense of the Erinaumese?  Criticize the AC and Belsnia when you've gone through with that.

It might also be noted that the AC is handling its internal violence in a much more graceful manner than certain *coughplexiacough* members of the international community have.  We are diplomatically holding our ground while simultaneously preparing for the possibility that Abdullahi may become frustrated that the AC will not give an inch.

Abdullahi, if it wishes for independence, will compensate.  Firstly because it opened up its campaign for independence with a terrorist act, which will not be forgotten.  Secondly, there will be compensation because that land effectively stopped being Abdullahi decades ago; it is now part of the AC; ergo the rules of commerce stipulate that there will be compensation.  If Yaslovakia wanted to buy the land, it would be no different.

That's the bottom line.

If it belonged to them in the first place, I wouldn't blockade them and stuff.  I would negotiate like a gentleman.

By that line of reasoning followed to its truest form:
Turkey should be returned to the Ottomans, all of North and South America should be returned to the descendants of the natives, and Germany should break up into all the little chunks that it used to be.  For that matter, much of Erinaum should be returned to Tengoku.

However, Turkey is a legitimate nation, as is Germany, and the nations of North America, and Erinaum, for that matter.

The tide is turning toward diplomacy, but like the tide, that shift will not come all at once.

blockade them and stuff.
Referring to the Mediterranean blockade, trade embargo, increased tariffs for those who associate themselves with Abdullahi trade wise, etc.

Responding to the poll, I am not against the AC opposing Abdullahi's independence.  I disagree with the course of actions they are taking despite the diplomatic intentions that they stated before.

Diplomacy works best from the higher ground.
So says post-WWI Germany.

Politics aren't a clean profession.  Hedging bets and covering all bases is standard.  As the proverb goes, he who wishes for peace prepares for war.
If I really wanted war I could have kept shooting.

If my efforts to diplomatically keep my nation intact are not to your satisfaction, I would remind you that it does not concern you.  This is between the cancer that is Abdullahi, and myself and those who will aid me.

In a press conference, it is revealed that another bomb has been tested at the now-famous Area 23. The tourist section, which was opened after the first bomb so flocks of people trying to view other explosions could be contained in one area, was closed for a little while due to exceeding levels of radiation, past the first bomb, which is dubbed Little Mary. A company named the Explosives Handling Company which is semi-owned by the government, has been drafted to clear the area of radiation as soon as possible so they could re-open a vital location for tourism in the barren region.

In other news, the Cericho Valley Military & Aircraft Testing Site (CVMATS, or MATS for short) has also become popular after the original drafts for an aircraft have been tested. The aircraft, which are named Swain and Janette, have been looming in the purgatory of CVMATS for years after their funding was unexpectedly cut to fund another large investment which was the capturing of a large militant group that has been known to rampage across other nations. Swain and Jannette have flown with very limited funding and as such they will be the only two models being flown, but they are going to be adapted to fit the bombs that are being tested at A23 in case of an emergency.

In other (major) news, the South Mexica Authority of Land Control has been researching into the safety and worth of capturing land north of them, in the North American continent. Quoth the leader of the Authority:

"We may just be in the early stages of research - finding out if it'd be worth it, or if it'd be safe to endeavor - but we are looking into it at breakneck speeds. We truly think that we should be moving into America in a matter of decades, maybe less."

A very large explosion goes off on a remote island in Utah's territory.  It can be seen from write a ways away, and many people are startled.  Utah does not make any comment.

from the flight deck of the Kuznetsov...

As 3 Crusiers that had been patrolling off the abduhallian coast have set a course back to the port of St Fydorsgobod, A new section of ships including the carrier kuznetsov have assembled in the Black sea. The mini carrier group also retains 2 cruisers and 2 frigates. "Ya ne dolzhen dat' mnogo detaley. No vooruzhennyye sily gosudarstva vsegda dolzhny byt' gotovy k lyuboy ugroze." Belsnian citizens residing in the Ukraine are becoming more and more impatient with the actions of the military council, Having just come out of a war in Europe, they say.

Belsnian Su-33s have begun more and more practice aboard the Kuznetsov recently, giving many sailors something to watch during Belsnia's maritime operations.

A statement from the Manager of Land Supervision sub-branch of the aforementioned (see: a few posts back) Authority: "We have sped up our investigation and now we're looking into the safety - not from nations, but from animals and other natives - and the land's richness."

So far, it is seeming like the Authority is going to bring up a Council Petition to claim the land, if deemed okay by the higher powers and other nations in the area. But, of course, nothing is final.

Word spreads around the Abdullahian sector amongst citizens of the, "Ultimate Sacrifice."

Word also spreads that the leader of the AIP plans to reveal himself soon.

Erinaum sends ships out to claim the Hawaiian Islands and Midway Island.

Utah claims the land to the east of it's current Oregon claims.  All the way up to the huge gulf.
