Author Topic: tor websites compromised, host of some tor sites arrested  (Read 14579 times)

Guys please explain to me how the government is violating privacy if they are busting websites which are known to propagate and encourage illegal activity, and keep a tab on anyone who knowingly visited these said sites in question (that's like being caught in a drug dealer exchange when DEA busts in). It's not like they outlawed Tor, they just got rid of the abuses of the system. Or am I wrong here?
From what I hear, they've distributed something through Javascript which allows them to fingerprint you on Tor or something. And here, they just seized a random hosting company, that hosts like half the websites on Tor.

Its annoying enough when someone looks over my shoulder, I can tell them to place stop.
With the government watching its like that annoying kid who won't listen.
How is something annoying if you can't even notice it is there?

Yup. FreedomWeb used to be the biggest private hosting company (it was not a random choice, it was the largest one and that's why it was targeted) but now it's down.
FBI didn't really "distribute" the script, but rather infected the Tor users in a virus-like manner. The hosting company, however, cannot take any legal action because most of its clients were hosting CP websites. Even if Freedomweb somehow takes this to the court, they will most likely lose.

Moral of the story: Disable your flash and javascript on Tor.

Things that are immoral and illegal:
    • Buying stuff online to make bombs to hurt people
    • Arranging to kill someone over internet
    • CP and whatever else is related to it
    • Spreading malware
Let's find a way to stop
all of these things.

Clearly the solution is to shut down the entire internet.

Moral of the story: Stop looking at child research y'forget.

all the handicaps that didnt turn off javascript while browsing the deep web deserved to be jailed.

going to do illegal stuff stupidly? get v& bitch

the deep web has nothing of value that you cant find on the normal web.

except for the many illegal things.

defending tor in any way is just sad. it means you msis your child research. thats really all a protected browser on proxies is used for.

and dont give me that alternative browser for people in countries that block the net crap. because there are 100 other similar solutions.

Not to mention that you can still use Tor anonymously if you didn't try to browse the deep web. (I think)

Just knowing its there can get annoying. Its like that stain you get on your pants. Not really noticeable but you hate it.

And can't each one of those also be used for illegal purposes?
Can't have one without the other.
