Author Topic: Has Blockland lost it's value since the removal of interiors and maps?  (Read 9290 times)

i really hope they rework terrain, but they haven't announced any plans to as far as i know.
This. I really want to see some new updates.

we could confront them during a spelunky stream.

terrain is pretty ugly and its not like terrain is used for great builds in blockland
anything built on terrain usually encompasses some square buildings and vehicle spawns...
modter and making your own terrain allows users to make some actually cool terrain and do what the game is really meant for, building. not to say building is all that the game is but clearly its the core mechanic and im cool with more building.

(we can probably use hamachi at the very least)
Hamachi Error: GetAdaptersInfo() - Unknown error

nooope

you could still build when terrain was here. it's not like slate just got released or something.

but old terrain made it easier to make terrain, in that you didnt have to place it brick by brick. it also had better collisions. it was better suited for those who don't want to build a giant terrain, they just want to build two bases and host a TDM or something. some of my best times on blockland were had on jorgur's slopes dogfight, and he left after the release of v21.

Personally, I always thought the terrain was a bit out of place with the game. Maybe if it wasn't so realistic and looked a little more blocky. Even though I miss them a little, I think Blockland has improved tremendously. I just hope Badspot updates more often, especially the physics.

It's not nostalgic considering it's the newest modern warfare now

i don't think a modern game in active development should be giving people nostalgia

...and also what

terrains only use was for lazy people to create huge empty maps so we can drive for 20 minutes to our deaths. I never once saw a good build on terrain. good builds were always on slate and variants...

You must of went on the most populated servers.
When I just started blockland, I didn't really go on the most populated servers, and I seen some pretty decent and great builds on terrain (although it may be because i just started out)
But still, good builds can be built on terrain, you just need the patience to actually make look good.

can you name a TDM where you had to drive 20 minutes to your destination? or is that an over-exaggeration made so that your point seems valid? even if they did exist, you weren't forced to play on those maps. lots of people found large scale maps fun, that's why jorgurs dogfight always had a big hoopla when it was hosted. if you want to see a good build on terrain, load a duplication save of something and put it onto the slopes.

I know for a FACT thatslate is for lazy people who don't like working with constrictions! they obviously don't like to challenge themselves to working with existing surroundings! Frank Lloyd Wright is famous for his organic architecture, he would see slate as a handout, something for the lazy! Slate is used to create small, confined, deathmatches so you can walk 2 seconds to your death. There's nothing good that came out of it except laziness!

jorgurs is a prime example of 20 minutes
if you're not flying a crap-handling stunt plane you're driving for a couple hours in a jeep

second para is just silly lol

and im fairly sure terrain is a pretty easy excuse for laziness as your old tdms and all that crap were literally like boxes on opposite ends and weren't really fun except for the short combat sequences followed by a long haul back...
id much rather be dying every few seconds and still getting in the action then periodic and monotonous sequences of nothing happening... lol

then why was jorgur's server so popular?
