but because it takes tactics and teamwork  to get something done.
hahahahaha

i dont get it? you think you could go in there and solo everyone that's defending a point? you have to maintain control over all 4 points, then siege the last final capture point to win. it's certainly not easy and you surely couldn't do it without working as a team.

do you play your server

4 people going berserk solo, one person per point is often enough

it may not last long enough to siege the enemy but for a short time it works

...especially with grenade launchers

I don't even see what the hell heedicalkings server mechanics have to do with the topic, but since this topic is about terrain it's obligatory he's going to try and use his sub-par server as a crux

I actually much prefer heed's servers since the bases stopped being 17 light-years away from each other. it's about 10x better without maps

i really hope you're joking here. the matches lasted hours, you can ask many people who've played it (were talking about slopes tdm). I honestly hope you don't think you can solo every single one of the four points, and maintain control over them while laying siege to the final point at the same time.

That's teamwork. If you have 4 people moving to capture 4 different points, then it's teamwork. it doesn't have to be all glorified "soldier1 to hawk-3, I have eyes on an enemy soldier, should i move in" to be a server that requires teamwork. If it isn't enough time to siege the enemy, my point still stands. You can't win whole thing as a solo guy. You still have to rely on your team to defend the other points, even if you aren't communicating with them.

It was the people who started attacking it who brought it up. I can defend terrain quite well without bringing in my server. You're calling me out for using it as a crux, when it was the people attacking it who brought it up as some kind of key point against terrain.

Many people said they liked slopes TDM better than islands and thought the islands one was sub-par compared to the slopes. I think it was good for a large scale TDM. It wasn't the best it could've possibly been, but I don't think it was THAT bad, i get messages almost daily about people wanting me to bring it back.

nah. Some people just have different tastes.

some people were pretty "your opinion is wrong" around the beginning there tho

I know a lot of you will dislike me for this, however I like TDM's where you actually have to fly/drive to your location. I like TDM's which have a cross between flying and fighting. If all you do is fight, then it gets repetitive and boring for me easily.

I agree on this point, I miss the days of having to walk or use a jeep or use a helicopter, to get to the place you need to go. It makes it way more fun because you get excited when you see an enemy approach you.

When I play on TDM servers, especially ones with vehicles, I sometimes get enjoyment when I drive professionally. Driving/flying to a location adds to game-play tremendously, I know for many it isn't as enjoyable. A map shouldn't be that vast though, it should be evenly spread out to be really fun.

tactics and blockland dont really go together well @ that earlier point.
unless teams have admin leaders orchestrating things, a lot of the time players will just rush in and ive given up attacking positions with people i dont know as they like to do their own thing.

I have to agree with heed here. When they removed terrain all the creative people left and everyone got lazy. Yes even i hate building now i mean i feel like i got worse. And you know whats funny? Most of the blockland community can't run blockland so whats the point of them? And no don't say "get a good graphics card so you can run it" i'd rather not buy a new graphics card just to run shaders that is just idiotic.

plus the fact that completely dominating your opponent by crushing them with an enormous tank is way more satisfying than shooting them.
