So yesterday I went to the Home Depot to look for a fan (my computer overheats badly when I try to run civ, an actual fan does the trick, as I hoped), and found, as I left, that my rear passenger tire was flat.  I changed the tire, but found today that the spare is also flat.  Both have what I sense are fairly irreparable issues (puncture at base of sidewall; when tire fully inflated, rim covers the spots), and the entire set is old enough that I've decided to spring for a new set of tires.  For the spare, I may see if I can pillage Taciturn's car (my old escort).  One of his ball joints is snapped, and he hasn't had the cash to do anything about it, so it's just been sitting in a parking lot, so I can probably take its spare without any real repercussions.

damn, 75% of the guys i know in the west michigan car scene have been doing it wrong this whole time with their euro and asian cars. i'll tell any of em i see that their cars are stuff and they should buy a duramax for track days instead lol

now dont go loving gay ass duramax stuff i hate the diesel truck trend like wtf

Remember that '89 toyota that I talked about here a few months back? Well my dad got it today and we pulled it to our house. Literally all that's wrong with it is it's missing the breather (the air filter and the tube), needs a new fuel pump, and a slight bit of wiring as well along with flushing out the gas tank.

When we got it to the house, all we had to do to get it started was tighten the starter (it was very loose), plug in the fan and pour water into the radiator, and pour gas into the carburetor. The damn thing started right up and ran ( only for a few seconds cause no fuel) and it ran good. Not to mention the thing has been sitting for over 10 years, lmfao.

The windshield wipers work perfect (needs new ones tho), the washer fluid and sprayers work perfect, it shifts and the gas / brake / clutch works, (the clutch only needed to be flushed out, which we did by un-screwing the bleeder valve all the way off and pumping the clutch for like 5 minutes, now it works perfect), all we need now are new bulbs for the lights, getting the breather and fixing the un-plugged things in the engine bay, and just fixing the weird wiring issues and misc the thing has. Just a lot of pretty easy fixes for a 30 year old car with only 179k miles on it

Toyotas man, they're so loving reliable

The car looks like this, just the paint is sun-damaged all to hell and it hasn't been washed in 10 years, plus very slight rust around the edges

Here be the pictures of the car

We currently have the gas tank out to clear out clogged lines, the fuel level sensor, and the filter. Along with clearing out the metric ton of gunk in there

you going to put a tach in it? or maybe find a corolla cluster with tach? I know there was a 1991 corolla Le down at my local pickn pull that had a factory cd player in dash (which is pretty luxurious for 1991) it might've had a tach, but im not sure the car its there anymore, it would've been there a long time

No because there isn't really a need for a tach on it anyway. Plus we're just fixing it up to sell it, which loving sucks

Also my dad is being such a nay-sayer about the whole car as well, he just wants to fix it up his way and he does not want to hear any ifs ands or buts about it which is loving infuriating. Even if something will blatantly not work, he won't listen whatsoever and will just waste time

That interior admittedly does look to be in pretty fine condition
