Perhaps you can use shadows to signify he's walking forward somehow? I have the artistic skills of a Contemporary Surrealist so I wouldn't know (not to diss contemporary art or surrealism i love both actually)

really? like, you have to? it's not like RPG Maker? in RPG Maker, you can make some scripts of your own, and use them, if you know how to write in Ruby. but it's not required at all

Nothing is really "easier" in GML, but it does allow for some more advanced functions.  For a 2D fighting game you probably won't need them though.  Plus, it's all kind of integrated into the drag-and-drop system anyway.

Yeah, if anything it just means the Starbound Avians have more wing-like arms from a young age, which are clipped to prevent them from flying.
