pretty much this

go mow some lawns, do some chores, or this time of year rake some leaves. im willing to bet that a lot of people in your neighborhood will fork some dollars your way if you do some grunt work for them.
As of this moment, I'm not on either side of this argument, but I still find it kind of unfair for him to have to work for a new account to replace the one that wasn't banned on his own accord. As others have stated before, that money should come from his friend.

while $20 is relatively pocket change, you can't just take something that was purchased by another and throw it away. that's called being a richard.

can someone give me a run-down on everything that just happened

i mean holy damn 14 pages

AromaniaFTW is banned for posting a goodbye thread

Aromania claims it was his friend who posted it, most evidence proved this

Badspot says that friend should pay Aromania back $20

Nevermind's sides died in a horrible explosion(?)

small debate whether Aromania should just work the money back because it's just $20 or friend owes him $20 for being a cunt

im sure there's more, but that's just the general ideas

wouldn't he never get his account "name" back

he'd be stuck living as an AromaniaFTW2
forever

Way to run an brown townogy right into the ground.

I don't know why people are arguing this - rules are rules. If he left his computer logged into his share trading site and his friend bought a bunch of stuff you can't just ring the stock market and get the money back. Learn to lock your computer or suffer the consequences - call it a life lesson at the low price of $20. I stand by my ban.
Are you seriously comparing an internet forum where things like this can be easily reversed and fixed to the stock market? Your brown townogy here never even made it above the ground.

be there or be square

I suppose it comes down to whether you consider a ban as something applied to a person to teach them a lesson, or as something applied to an account due to whatever was done on that account. IMO, if the former, then the permaban is going overboard, if the latter, than his friend owes him $20.

Pro tip: You don't just hand your credit card over to a stock market.
lol I don't even know where to begin.
You cannot "hand your credit card" because stock market is not a physical entity.
Chargebacks are not only for credit card, but also for bank accounts as well. You cannot buy stock with cash, so you can request chargeback for all types of stock purchases.

Not only that, if your friend bought tons of stock with your money, you can usually sell it back almost immediately if you set the price lower than the best bid at the time. (unless it's a stuff stock that nobody wants to buy)

Ephi, don't forget that you are just a developer for an indie game. Not even, you are just a modder. Get a real job and you might see that you aren't smart and infallible.

1.  i guess the new york stock exchange building isn't physical anymore it's just imaginary
2.  you cannot chargeback for stock purchases, otherwise the later plot of The Dark Knight Rises would've been easily void (and it's not because you can't loving chargeback for stock purchases)
3.  oh my god you did not just say he didn't have a real job lmao.  do you think rtb is his income

1. The new york stock exchange building is a stock exchange, not the stock market.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_market read the first sentence and you will know that the stock market itself is not a physical facility.
2. You can. You might need lawyers and adequate proofs that your friend did it. Also, like I said before, you can sue your friend or sell back the stocks right away if the demands are high.

Oh my god lol. You are something else.
Yes I am something else from you. I'm not narcissistic and I have a nice job.
