I hate filler classes, I would rather take the courses only relating to my degree rather than being forced to learn about the history of painting and sculptures.

That doesn't sound like a 75k salary + benefits job.

I didn't even see the pay part, 12.50 an hour 8 hours a day is stuff. My dad is a truck driver, he made more than double that at his last job. He worked atleast 40 hours a week and he made like 60k a year.

you either
a. go to college
b. invent something
c. be so smart that you can solve any problem, blind folded, hog tied, and with 30 bullets in your ass.
theres no other way of putting it.

more like
Go to school

Military
start a business
work in a soon to be outsourced unskilled job

I don't actually know how much he makes or how many hours he works, I'm just assuming due to his past jobs.

My brother has been hired in over ten of them. He doesn't have a diploma. From his work experience it makes him just as skilled as someone with a bachelors or masters. Right now his current job pays 12.50 an hour and he works everyday for 8 hours.
$12.50 is terrible, I get paid more than that already.
Though the jobs definitely exist, both of my brothers dropped out of school in 10th grade and landed 86k a year jobs with on the job training and without any certifications.

What if you didn't want to go to college to get a job.
But just to learn.

Wouldn't that be funny?

i started work in the IT dep at this community college.
the guys they have here arent the least bit qualified lol. the director has a 2 year computer science. i should have his damn job lol. (maybe i will ):D)

everyone else just has ms or a+ or networking certs hanging in their offices. like gtfo people.
when i got out of college they threw like 50 certifications at me that i apparently got. ihave them packed away in the box somewhere. what a joke.
yeah it doesnt matter if they are as qualified as you, they still get the job. getting a nothing degree would still be worth it regardless of how bs you think it is

What if you didn't want to go to collage to get a job.
But just to learn.

Wouldn't that be funny?
If I had a buttload of free time and money I would love to get a degree in Philosophy.
However I don't have either of those things so forgetet.

Don't make me laugh

if there isn't an old man asking you to have love in his dorm room and drink capri sun on the campus, then yes

The payoff really depends on how educated you are. If you know your stuff, you know exactly what to do to make your living.

So just out of curiosity, since this is a thread based around high end education and jobs, is anyone else here not aspiring to get top super wealthy good job $$$ success jobs?
Just curious cause I've never really wanted to get some sort of high paying mind melting office job.

I'd rather kill myself than work 8-6 in a sterile office job for 40 years.

>not earning merit scholarships
>not applying for FAFSA
>not going for a major that has value (or extreme demand, see: computer software, engineering, etc. STEM)

there is no dispute though, college tuition is heavily inflated.
