Author Topic: YouTube overhauls comments and links them to Google+  (Read 29271 times)

I'm honestly completely baffled as to what people are up in arms about this time. My youtube viewing experience hasn't changed at all and I thought that youtube accounts were already linked to a Google account sometime back anyway.

So what if you have to have a Google account to use a Google service? Or if you have to click the little button to enable Google+? Don't use the service if you don't want to. It's not like you have to verify your real information on Google+ anyway; you can have as many fake name throw away accounts as you like.

You kids are getting mad over the stupidest stuff.

Wait I'm not getting what everyone's problem is

Simply switch comments to show latest first, done

The time and reply links aren't working so what? Some bugs always remain, and they get fixed later on

The fact that Top Comments seemingly doesn't actually show top rated comments (unless the likes have disappeared from pre-update comments), but i've yet to see any post-update comments with a lot of likes appear on top

then set it to sort by recency

That you absolutely need a Google+ account to see and post comments, which is an inconvenience for some as they have to create an account for a site they're not even gonna use if they don't already have one

not a Google+ account, just a Google account (which is also a Google+ account)
it's simply trying to reduce the number of accounts you need on various services

how is that a bad thing?

And now all these useless dummy accounts are being created just so people can see and post in the comments and it's probably wasting Google+'s database rather than using it for it's intended purpose

"dummy accounts"

don't disrespect the people! it's not like they're robots!

So what if you have to have a Google account to use a Google service?

exactly

nobody will use google+ accounts except for the minority

they're alts made so their original accounts can stay disconnected from google+

youtube should just stay standalone

you can have an opinion though that's fine

Yes, but before at least youtube was still useable. I'm not going to give into google+ because its a load of trash and I will refuse it in any way I can, even if I cant comment.

"yeah but now it's different"

there have been petitions (but if they do anything nobody knows)
but is there a way to make change?
a mass exodus?
raiding google headquarters?

its not like youtube has a monopoly on video sharing sites

can you please explain how its trash? i have no problem with it but maybe thats just because i dont comment
its kinda like you and intel
you hate it but can't really explain why and use bogus agruments

I liked it better when Google combined it's search engine abilities with the search bar on YouTube.

That was a great idea imo, you could google anything and get a video of it.

The entire intel thing is really a joke as in, I think intels completely fine.
I just choose amd over intel.
No, I have a reason why I hate this horrid service. They are slowly taking away youtube and turning it into google+. Why not just leave it their own site and leave it alone, it really makes me wonder what would have happened if google didn't buy youtube

it wouldnt be that good tbh
google has a pretty high standard
and pretty much every other google product is integrated with google plus somehow so im not sure why people are complaining when youtube gets an upgrade/downgrade/whateveryouwannacallitgrade

I wonder how the original devs are taking this maybe, they know they forgeted up and are planning another site once YouTube kicks the bucket.
