Author Topic: YouTube overhauls comments and links them to Google+  (Read 29236 times)

They never tried because it's not remotely worth trying. YouTube occupies a viciously massive part of the internet. Everyone knows about it, everyone uses it. Any other video sharing service would fail in trying to rise to the top almost instantly.
we'll need a MASS EXODUS
A MIGRATION
A NEW AGE
and what better place to start it than the blockland forums

we'll also need a forger, a briber, and a scapegoat

The only chance any other site would have is if YouTube was really going down the drain. I mean currently you have to use google+ to comment right? Well who knows what's next? Using google+ for favouriting videos? Liking them? Uploading? When it gets to that point maybe people will stop with YouTube but who knows.

YouTube will sink Google?
i think he meant to flip the photo vertically

Wrong way around.
Hm?

I dunno seemed pretty relevant to me.

We have YouTube as the Titanic that was doing so well until it hit the iceberg which is Google+

Well, more that it hit Google. The water would be Google+ as it floods in. Of course that does present the problem of "Then YouTube would always be floating on Google+" so this brown townogy wouldn't work in that sense... I overcomplicated it, I suppose.

Oh, and then Google+ would just be frozen, condensed Google+... Definitely wrong.

that's as popular as youtube
This matters?

If it's free, in your language, and has good features, then you should be the one to start to move.
Don't not join something because everyone else hasn't done so too.
If everyone thought like that nothing would ever change.

Guys people are getting evil:

"expand this comment" leads to a screamer

Another Blocklander showed me this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRZvF42uTAc

Go to the comments and sort by newest. My first time seeing this, but Google+ shares show up as comments now. Literally appears the same way as a comment, but no text. That dumb. And that was a share from last month, too... Well, comments were in beta back then probably.

Can you link that comment for us? I want to test the page code and see how. You're saying that is literally a screamer link? That would need some url formatting, and I'm interested to figure that out.

until it hit the iceberg which is Google+
And they plowed through it because they thought it would cause no problems.

Oh wow, I spent like... wow, an hour and 10 minutes trying to figure that out because all you gave was the screenshot. It's 10x simpler than I thought it was:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Expand%20this%20comment%20%C2%BB

I knew about YouTube Video Links becoming the video title, but it didn't hit me to just name videos that text. I'm stupid, although it'd have helped to have an example. x-x I mean, I didn't expect the screamers to be local to YouTube - I expected off-site.

Sorry if some of the information/links/pictures I post are already in the topic, it's nearly midnight on sunday night here and I really need to go to sleep but god damnit I need to type about random stuff on the blockland forums.

First of all, this is something Zealot sent me yesterday:

Second, here's a picture of NerdCubed on one of his newer videos, just something I thought was humorous.

Third of all, this was something I found in the same comments section of that video which I also thought was pretty funny.

Forth and final, this was his linked Mystery Video, which is also relatively funny and a rather enjoyable song.

NerdCubed also does a video on his thoughts on the new update, which I found to be intriguing and informative, although it is really just an opinion.

It'd be better if it didn't drive everyone psycho bonkers crazy

There used to be worthwhile comments, now there's trap links and spam

I'm in the small majority of people who read the comments and i find this sad
