Got a pair of studio monitors so I can finally mix using a standard tool (and not headphones). I also got some acoustic foam to treat the bottom of my bed (which is above my desk) and the back of the wall.

Do you at least move your tablet out of the way when mixing? Also if you're going so far as to put foam up you might consider removing whatever is on top of your right monitor too... might cause some rattling.

No room to move the tablet. Its not sonically in the way that much. I mean if I have a monitor in the center already, one on the side is probably less disrupting than the one facing into the projected audio axis. Also I ordered some new USB Type B cables that are long enough to move my pre's over to the right. Current ones too short, I have them under my monitor atm, barely fitting.

Ah, I see. Still ten times better than my setup lol.

wow nice stuff, what libraries do you use?
IIRC he uses Nexus for most stuff.

Using new stuff now, but occasionally use Nexus because it has nice depth in the basses. This is what I have been using recently. http://www.soundsonline.com/composercloud Purchased it on sale on black friday.

Anyway, new short piece. https://a-p-x.bandcamp.com/track/blockland

I did some mix practice with some stems provided by the band. Unsure of how much premixing was done to them, since it sounded kind of processed, and the drums were only one track. But I made it sound thicker and fatter for sure. Moved up the guitars in the frequency range a bit, and made the leads and FX more seperated from the instruments and audible.

Warning: metal ahead

Still bad at making songs but made this little loop to test OpenMPT which i might use instead of fl studio
