They were thought to be, hence the name, but it's not really known what causes them.

And his symptoms are too vague for anyone here to even begin to suggest a diagnosis.
Visit a doctor if and when you can. Take pain killers if necessary, but read the instructions first. Don't take any other medicines you may have unless instructed to by a doctor.

If you do have diarrhea and/or vomiting though, it's best to phone your doctor beforehand.
It's not appreciated when you come to a doctors office with a possibly infectious illness.
