But why does it matter? (@OP)
I know that the majority of the forums are very young, but I've always wondered: Why do people constantly say that skin color doesn't matter, yet when someone brings up something that a black person did, they look at the race as if they're criminals? they treat Asians as nerds; they, for the most part, glorify whites?
No one ever stops to think that everyone on the planet is their own person, not bound to live some way based off of the physical characteristics that they've inherited.
The world is so obsessed with titles; "You act so white/black.", "Nerd/Jock/Geek/etc."
Why can't someone just be who they are? The only thing that is holding everyone back is the fear that they will be judged by others, because that's exactly what will happen. They know that it'll happen, and so they hide and try to be someone that they aren't.
Well I think that is bullstuff. Sure, many people in the world who do terrible things are black, but the reason that they do those things isn't BECAUSE they are black, but it's because they're cruel people. Should it be acceptable to refer to whites as serial killers? Of course not, because the actions of some do not define the character of an entire race.
