So.

So wait. People are seriously condemning this game because one of the character design artists is a... feminist? Like, what?

I don't understand. Why is this a problem? She's not the boss, she has no say whether or not they accept her designs to begin with. I honestly don't understand. Everyone has opinions about social issues. Whatever extremist beliefs she holds isn't a legitimate reason to call the entire game lost now. There's more than one person on the team.

And from my understanding the Japanese man who appeared is an industry veteran? I sincerely doubt he'll just let agendas butt in on everything.

Sure, she might be a bit loopy, but I think it's pretty loving idiotic to overreact to this immense proportion about a single human's opinion.

I literally cannot comprehend what this idiot in the video is going on about. Yeah, her conceptions are kind of nutty - non-gendered pronouns and other stuff like that are stuff I find pretty stupid - but I don't understand how people can be so completely stupid. He was ragging on her introduction post. It looked completely fine to me. Despite all the hate and whatever she was receiving she remained nice and tried to be professional about it and cracked a joke or two to try to get a smile and ease the tension. Grammar was fine. Spelling was fine. It wasn't written by an autistic twelve year old. It was tolerable.

What is to hate about that? Like really? And she locked her Twitter - so what? I don't know exactly what that means because I don't frequent that site but I presume it has something to do with making everything private. Following that, she used that time to clear out the Tweets that got everyone's panties in a bunch because she wanted to separate her professional and personal life - which is exactly what everyone seemed to be asking her to do because they were all so grossly offended by this single person's non-impactful opinions on some fluffy touchy-feely third-gender bullstuff. And the giant magnifying glass floating above 'Megaman X/Never played MM' is really just picking at nothing.

I know plenty of people who got a little head start on a position because they knew someone there who could vouch for them. Obviously she is a professional artist, and a qualified one at that - so what if she isn't a Megaman buff? Do you know exactly why the 20 year Capcom industry veteran hired her or are you attempting to imply that you have foresight that he does not? If I was a game developer I could rationalize bringing in people unfamiliar with the predecessor for a breath of new life - a new take on everything, a new angle. The hounding of this point makes me feel like everyone's whining more because there was a Kickstarter that this small clique of fat nerds presumed would give them everything they wanted. A Megaman clone. The good old days! Remember when game companies catered to a minority, everyone?

Yeah. Bitch is crazy. Stupid tumblr social justice is dumb. But nothing else is atrociously horrible - if anything, the uproar over literal, absolute NOTHING is mind-boggling. I honestly don't understand. You are willing to stuff on the combined efforts of a whole game development team over one person and her personal opinion? I just-

i doubt that because of the other videos he's made
like i said he's probably one of those """"MASCULINISTS"""" who loving hate women

The argument here is absolutely stupid. "Your" game is fine.
Even if she suggested a change and every single other person who had to agree with it did, It's their game, They can do that.

Ah yes that thing, it was a good day for the PC master race when that thing flopped. The cries of the white knights pleases me.

Can someone summarize this video for me?
Some woman suggested that the No. 9 should be a "strong female lead character" and she was given a job as the artist and community manager for the game. She had feminist views and never really were a megaman enthusiast, so she is working on a spiritual successor of a game series she has never played. Also apparently she got the job because she had relationships/connections with the other employees of the company. She said some stupid things on twitter, locked it, lied about it being an accident when in reality she deleted the embarrassing tweets. The video then goes on to lists lots of evidence about her being inexperienced and unfit for the job.

Pretty sure he's being sarcastic.

i doubt that because of the other videos he's made
like i said he's probably one of those """"MASCULINISTS"""" who loving hate women
But if masculism is the opposite of feminism, doesn't that mean that feminists hate men? There are some pretty good reasons why to hate feminists, whether you're a man or a woman.

Doesn't sound like someone who should be even remotely related to the team, but as everyone else has been saying, one person should not (hopefully) make much of a difference.

Inafune wanted to make a game based around him and his community, so one bad apple shouldn't prevent that.

What she has done already suggests that she will be making a major difference.
I've seen what people like this can do to the integrity of any project.

At some point the complaints about her political views were overshadowed by the fact that she seems to be lying about/covering up her identity, has little knowledge of the game (or the community), and is apparently doing a poor job of managing said community.

What it looks like to people is that someone with a radical agenda is dangerously close to negatively impacting the game they are particularly interested in. The game is intended to be a successor to Megaman, which implies similarity, and someone with no experience with the game they are recreating seems unfit to be on the project.

I don't think she will have as much impact on the development of the game as people are imagining but the possibility is definitely there (and that's what scares people).
