it's because the awp is a very expensive weapon and only gives you $150 dollars per kill.
pro players actually think it's underpowered because it's really stuff for long term economy.

also counter-strike is not an individual game. it's a team game. if you're not pushing up with your team covered by flashes and smokes YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG.
