We'll see who's right when you're being eaten by a horde of zombies or I've been killed by a firing squad for contributing to the pandemonium with my looting and small amounts of marauding. Or we'll die of old age waiting for zombageddon.
They have to identify that the threat is zombies and not a bunch of college morons high on some hallucinogenic and trying to hurt people. As said previously, a quick and decisive response will most likely come too late. Most likely, the military hasn't got a Plan Z for when the undead start to eat people, or maybe they made one as a joke. I personally don't feel that the military would deliver an informed, effective, decisive blow quickly enough to stop an outbreak worthy of being called an apocalypse from overrunning both the US and the world (Especially if the May Brooks version of a zombie, destroy the brain to kill it, is in place.), but that's just my opinion.
I didn't mean the virus in the water, I meant actual zombies kicking around in the underground and coming up and biting people (or creating a zombefied horde of sewer people).
